A global event? No it's not, those are 50k+ and have qualifiers.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Nope, it's not part of WCS, it's just an 8 man invitational hosted by IEM.

WCS Global Events need $50,000+ prize pool and 16+ players.

I think two bo5 GSL groups into bo7 semis could've been really sick for this event. Perfect opportunity to test something new since games tend to be faster in LotV.

They said invites were going to based on performance in season 11 yet the closest they have to that is herO's semi-final performance in Shenzen.

Quite disappointing lu. Thought we would have some more star power.
Still interested about it, especially with Byun in.

Pretty much exactly how I feel. Although if we're lucky the star power is diminished on the grounds of Proleague starting right afterwards. I'd be fine with that.

I expect Byun or soulkey to win unless the former can't get over nerves

EDIT: Just saw the brackets, I think the winner of snute/herO will take on the winner of Byun/SK in the finals

The big question is whether this is the tournament Lilbow has been practicing for?

Lilbow gets a second shot vs Koreans. That I am thankful of.

c'mon he can't beat byun. should use the time better to practice for ... okay enough

That might be true, but anything will look better than his games vs Life.

I wonder how many invitationals Lilbow will get invited to before organizers realize hes not that popular or good in LotV

Yeah he is the only invite that stands out as "should he be there?". Ptitdrogo, ShowTime, Nerchio, Mlord would've been sick. Him and the supposedly retired MC I guess.

He still was the best foreigner at the end of HotS. sOs hasn't shown that great play in LotV yet either, but no one is arguing that he shouldn't be there and with good reason I think.

sOs has played 4 televised 1v1 games in LotV and is the reigning Starcraft World Champion. Lilbow meanwhile has been completely overshadowed by other foreign players in LotV so far when playing in the same tournaments as them. I'd be fine with Lilbow if he had an interesting playstyle but... well, he never had that.
