I wouldn't blame WCS 2016 for every retirement. It is the end of the year, contracts are ending. It is normal that most players retire at that time of the year. And some people like Rain already made up their decision to retire before anything about WCS was announced.

Even so, what choice is left to Korean players who cannot return to KeSPA? They are effectively stranded.

Fanta is the perfect candidate tho. Invested everything on oversea tournaments after leaving SKT, got decent results and reached his goal of going to blizzcon. And that have been forbidden to him so that Hydra and Polt can get way richer.

Sadly this is true but the only guys that can't return to KeSPA are Rain, Fantasy and Parting. Even though I really like all of them you can't change the whole WCS system because of them. And like i said before, officialy Rain's decision was not affected by the WCS announcement. On December 27 2015 23:51 sAsImre wrote: Fanta is the perfect candidate tho. I could imagine that similar to Rain Fantasy already made up his decision to retire when he left SKT but I obviously don't know. Would be really nice to have the fomos interview translated so we maybe get some answers.
