Do they share Western sentiment that this ruling is draconian and anti-fun, or do they think it's reasonable? I'm also interested in this. If I recall correctly there's a similar system in place for Korean and Japanese baseball players, where if they leave domestic leagues before a certain age they're banned from returning to Korea/Japan and competing in domestic leagues for like ten years or something (to prevent the drain of top young domestic talent to foreign leagues right away). So maybe the Proleague restriction also doesn't seem so offensive since there's that context to compare it to there.

Unless Kespa did actually create a 8²th team and convinced SKT to let Rain play there (and he would totally fit as a protoss leader for such team), I see him either staying teamless till WCS is clear and someone picks him up or follow flash into the army. Yes, they did. But what stopes them from picking up another player? ProLeague has not begun, thus registration for Season 1 should still be open and rosters could still be changed. But why should SKT want him? They got Dark, INnoVation, Dream, Classic and soO. For a Bo5 League, more then enough. If Rain goes back to SKT, he WILL replace Classic as top protoss, he ALWAYS delivers for SKT in proleague

But then if SKT continue barring him from SPL I dunno what he'll do. ![]()

The punishment is very harsh, TBH I doubt SKT would even want him back if they were willing to throw the book at him, so he maybe got banned from Proleague. They also did the same to Fantasy, Parting and Soulkey... At the time I read there were disagreements between some of the staff (maybe Oov) and those players, so clearly something not good happened in the SKT house, and SKT took things further.

For a Bo5 League, more then enough. If Rain did re-sign with SKT, I have no doubt he would be in in the core rotation, and could share ace matches with Inno and soO (he was ridiculously clutch as SKT's ace, almost singlehandedly carrying them through the 2014 playoffs) but I agree with you, unless Proleague moves to Bo7 format, I don't see a reason why SKT would re-sign him. It's more than overkill. I hope with all hope that he joins a KeSPA team and is allowed to play in Proleague. Any team besides SKT and KT could really use him. My dream scenario would be Rain, Soulkey, and Fantasy headlining some sort of 8th-team. I'm especially worried that he tweeted "thank you for all those years" - years, plural, when he's only been on mYi for a year. Heres to hoping that was just a language barrier typo, and that he's leaving mYi for another team, and not retirement.

![]() Of course, that's under the assumption that he views it as bad that he even has this ban on playing. I don't know if Koreans actually in on the behind-the-scenes of the team view it as a punishment, rather than standard practice when leaving a premier team before the termination of a contract.
