He implied nothing of the sort; literally, he`ll take a rest.

Often, players say they will "take a rest," which turns out to be indefinite. If you think about it, it would be surprising, but not entirely shocking, if he retired. He had a (fairly) successful career as a BW player, has killed it in SC2, but can't really play in PL unless he goes back to SKT1. I really hope he doesn't retire, but it's definitely not out of the question.

Unless Kespa did actually create a 8²th team and convinced SKT to let Rain play there (and he would totally fit as a protoss leader for such team). I'd like to see that happening, but I figure he'll go back to SKT. He has few options at this point.

Do they share Western sentiment that this ruling is draconian and anti-fun, or do they think it's reasonable? Ambivalent. Without 5-year-rule, there`s no way to stop those two Telecom teams from sweeping talented players from this scene, which will break the equilibrium; teams on low budgets cannot protect their players nor get any transfer fee. However, considering T1`s overwhelming strength, Koreans think that it`d be better to make an exception for this case.

Apparently he cannot play in proleague for the next 4 years except if it's for SKT. The same applies to Parting, Soulkey and Fantasy. Parting was in total beast mode earlier this year (95% PvT ~_~) and his team would have done much better if he was allowed to play. Wait wtf when did this happen?

I don't think that's really a concern. When Kespa switched to SC2 they were years behind and Rain won OSL and came 2nd in GSL within around 6 months of switching . First 7 months of this year: Under these filters, PartinG is 71–12 (85.54%) in games and 29–1 (96.67%) in matches. and vs Koreans only: Under these filters, PartinG is 61–10 (85.92%) in games and 24–1 (96.00%) in matches.
