YoDa, B4, Gerrard arrested for match-fixing - Page 24

Based on the official Police investigation, only the above players have been implicated in matchfixing. There is no reason to further accuse other players and teams until we get more information. Incessant blind accusations will not be tolerated. Please read the thread and the updates before posting.

As of page 54 we will be moderating against match fixing accusations for players who were not caught in this incident, including those using voided Pinnacle bets as evidence.

The Changwon General attorney has indicted 12 ppl (I think 11 is right though) including Gerrard and YoDa.
Brokers are 4 (currently) including broker Choi(39), and 2 members of a Korean gang. Gerrard and the player(s) have gotten 5000$ ~ 20,000$ per matchfix (Suspected 5 matches) while gang members got 40,000$, and brokers 30,000$

* I translated 10,000 KRW into 10USD. only a rough estimate of money.

that's a shit ton of money. Is esport betting such a huge thing in korea ?

match-fixing in general is nothing new in Korea, every major sport has seen a similar scandal in the past decade

yeah but if we're talking hundred thousand for a sole proleague match, i cant even imagine how much money there is in sports betting

You guys are definitely misinterpreting what Wolf said. Pretty sure he was worried like many people here, but it seemed like he knew more than us about who was on the list. Obviously, he didn't know anything, otherwise he'd have twitted the name of the players right away.

I'm quite inclined to believe this but the wording of his tweet suggests that he actually knows who.

Yeah, maybe he could have worded it a little better. Either way, he said he was waiting for the announcement just like us and clearly didn't gives us any names at the time. Tweets can be misleading at times too.

I know how many times I told my ex-girlfriend one thing on the messenger and she completely misinterpreted what I meant. I always tried to explain it later, but she just wouldn't care because she was already pissed off. Human beings are weird like that...

Hate is a strong word.. He made this sound like the end of the world. Everyone knew Gerrad and Yoda were involved, since their names were the first to be released.

Well, Wolf's reaction is because he probably knows about other matches and players involved and he thought they all would be revealed now, which wasn't the case.

Wolf Schröder ‏@proxywolf 12m12 minutes ago
The official police statement does not release names other than Gerrard and Yoda, and says at this time there are 5 CONFIRMED fixed matches.

See as "confirmed" is written is Capslock on his tweet

Why does it affect players who aren't involved in matchfixing. Outside of getting a few freewins it doesn't really make a difference for them, does it?

Suspected match fixing is a very strange thing to lose passion from.

The most direct consequence of match fixing for any innocent player is a free win.
