ive made my decision as i was on the fence but i think i will not be buying lotv. i gotta speak my mind somehow, i'm one of the guys that buys every game of the franchise even if i dont play it because im a fan of it. the only games i did this (not buying in protest) before is gran turismo 6. and spin-offs of fanal fantasy if that counts.
this has little to do with gameplay. i've learned to get used to it and like it, i havnt even played lotv beta though i have it but its not because of gameplay. its blizzard's inability to make the game experience better. such as changeless, repetitive, same-o-shit of the arcade that was the bread and butter of bw. uneventful and boring maps of team games. the least popular feature of bw (ladder) being the primary focus and everything else revolving around it.
but to be really honest, i'll probably buy it on release, just wanted to futilely protest

I have beta access, but I plan to buy a physical copy of LOTV. If anyone has any news about pre-purchasing a physical copy and getting access to the Whispers missions, please let us know!

Again as I previously said, LotV is a product that we have a pretty clear vision and expectation, and the beta has ran long enough for everyone to understand whether the game works or not. Plus it is Blizzard so more likely than not their game work at launch.

I think I'm going to wait until it's ~USD 20. The hype is pretty low for me, I don't think the econ/unit changes justify the current price, and I don't think Blizzard is taking SC2 in the right direction. We'll see...

I don't think there's going to be any problem but Blizzard's not necessarily known for good launches. D3 wasn't THAT long ago and that was certainly a disaster. Either way I'm not paying $40 for this so we'll see.

didn't read the whole thread, but how hard is it to read that everyone get all the protoss mission, be it early or post release purchase ? (been reading 3 pages so far, and the amount of players' fear is astounding)
I'm not even sure if I'll buy it, because I've been so fucking bored lately with all those fucking imablanced protoss units and the fact that some of the annoying units are still there doesn't help the case.
Worse than that, adept are kinda like zealots but with range and a better dps against light. Seriously blizzard ?... Better change it fast. This game is becoming a lot like : scout as fuck and do everything to prevent it. Wrong guess ? Well, don't want to say it, but you're pretty fucked.

Thanks for ruining Starcraft Activision... There is also the campaign, custom games and the new coop mode. Sorry to break it for ya but, all the entire franchise is centering about 11. If it wasn't there, you can be sure sc2 would be long gone.

Honestly I'm still here not because the games amazing but because there's nothing else like it. It's more of the same, they've neither will nor resources to make it great.
I don't do pre-orders and I've no time for mobas. I think I'll grab it cheap after release, be disappointed with the campaign writing and then move on with my life.

But I guess since everything is digital now the same rule applies to single player games ... Never play on patch day.

I will not preorder and I am not even sure about buying. I used to play SC2 a lot and those were great times but honestly, I don't know if I will be satisfied the LotV, especially at full price.
At this point I believe that SC2 won't change much, give or take another expansions. It will be as it is now and HotS probably is enough to fulfill my need for 2 hours of Starcraft every month.
But I will watch for sure.

SC2 never had big launch day server issues even back at WoL launch where there were massive number of players.

No point in pre-ordering, we costumers should let this behavior die. I didnt buy D3 and after that whole auction house thing i am not sure if i should buy another game from blizz. LotV just doesnt look too hot imo.

I pre-ordered around 8 games in last 5 years and I have not regret about any of those games. If you can select proper games you can safely pre-order and nothing bad happens. I will continue with pre-ordering games and I have already ordered the SC2:LotV. I don't care about early access to some missions I would get anyway and I don't care about beta(I have it and it's unplayable anyway), I know the single player will be good and that's all I need. Which reminds me I have one more game to pre-order :>

Maybe you genuinely like the games you preordered. Or maybe you just don't want to admit that you wasted your money. We will never know... but the fact is, that people tend to find justification to anything they did in the past, even if it was not the best for them.

I wish we could have a collector's edition pre-order solution to have access to the goodies. I would value that more and would pay the premium over the regular edition but local shops have no option to do this.
Obviously I'm not getting a regular edition pre-ordered now and then buy a CE when it comes out in stores so either wait for the CE or settle for the regular edition. Meh.
Oh and someone suggested get it on Amazon but from my experience, for deliveries in Portugal that is not reliable as local companies in charge of transportation tend to have misplaced items when they transport cool stuff

Yea, so I finally preordered digital version of LotV because I was curious about the prologue missions.
Whispers of Oblivion are seriously disappointing. I really hope the last campaign would be on the level but the prologue is not. Heroes were already strong in WoL, in HotS Kerrigan stepped it as you could just solo missions with her. I hope they won't make heroes in LotV so powerful that normal units would be on "why bother" level.

Heroes being strong? Only the prophecy missions has Heroes on missions with bases and only in the third was Zeratul broken. But I agree with what you are saying overall, I would like to point out that Blizzard just released a new short story introducing a new character that I think has been revealed in one of the trailers, this dude seems super badass, plus I heard that Legacy will have 50 missions? On top of that the 3.0 Campaign UI hits right in the feels. WoO was horribly bad, but recently I've started to garner some hope.

I preordered for the prologue missions and beta, disappointed with the prologue missions, won an automated beta tournament, still worth it.
