Olimoley (who manages Axiom) had this to say about it :
It's not simply poor performance (although he certainly showed that too). Failure to show up for the 1st clan war, barely making it for the 2nd, lack of preparation, and general disinterest in even participating with us in the first place. EDIT: further explanation on our decision When we first created the partnership, SoulKey made it very clear it wasn't his idea to create this partnership. We told him we could dissolve it if he wanted in case he was forced into something he didn't want to be a part of, be he said it was fine and he'd play. The first clan war we participated in, we made sure SoulKey knew the time and date, reminding him 2 days before the event, 1 day before the event, and the night before the event of the time and place. We gave him a second chance with our ace match, where he proceeded to clearly show he didn't practice or glance at the map pool. He apologized and informed it would never happen again. This clan war, we did the same thing. Informed him of his match and time well ahead of time, including the night before the match where he responded "yes, bro, I understand". During the match before his (Heart vs Catz), we called, texted, kakoed (Instant messenger), and even called a couple people close to track him down. He finally responded 1 minute before his disqualification, made it in time, but evidently proved he had not prepared at all. Our clan war scores have not been very good since it's inception, and we can't work with someone who cannot take our tournament matches seriously. We're giving our best, but having maps basically handed to our opponents is not what we need. This is what led to our decision to dissolve the partnership.

Sounds like a logical decision from Axiom. Kind of shitty by SoulKey. Even if he didn't want to do the partnership this is still his job to be a professional gamer. Sometimes in your job you need to do stuff you don't exactly want to do.

that's really low out of SK, I hope Axiom can find another player to field
|
and with impact leaving axiom this means the team is down to 4 right?
also can someone confirm this is just enough to keep playing in clanwars?

They could change one of the 1v1 to Archon mode so 4 players would be alright. Or just let play Has as a mercenary everytime someone is absent.

Axiom not satisfied with Soulkey's performance, lol

Is soulkey even lazier than Genius??

Oh Soulkey, what the hell are you doing!?

Losing to Creator.

Wow I'd never had thought this of Soulkey, this really changes my view of the guy. I was happy for Creator winning against SK even though I thought it was surprising. Now I'm also happy that SK lost lol XD

Totally understand Axiom position
|
I used to have a lot of respect for Soulkey but I lost a little after reading this. I'm starting to wonder if his interest in SC2 is fading again, his performances recently just haven't been at the level I'd expect from him.
I totally understand Axiom's position, and while I'm sad they've got to sit out for a while from Clan Wars due to lack of players it's better to do that than continuously have issues with one player that shouldn't be happening.
|
Well, that seems to be about all there is to say, really.

Why "lol"? The OP gives plenty of reasons why SK acted unprofessionally and explained that didn't practice appropriately.
Sad to see SK behave this way, and I feel bad for Axiom.

SoulKey showing his inner Stephano, I see.

So I'm guessing MMA will replace Soulkey?

Acer is teamed up with DPix so he can't.

Wow, it feels like Axiom Barely Exists now!

soulkey also suspected of matchfixing recently .. what a guy

I wouldn't rush to judge this, I'm sure a different story can be told from SK side

He didn't show up in time for Axiom's first clanwar, only barely made it for the 2nd and he was unprepared for the maps he played on. That's unacceptable for Axiom and unprofessional from Soulkey.

if he's not happy with how SK conducted himself and wants to dissolve the partnership that's absolutely 100% fine in my book as it's his business venture, and i honestly don't care. but once again he has to make a big dramatic statement about it (with the excuse of "transparency") and throw around community clout to create artificial drama because it hurt TB's ego that a player turned his nose up at his event
it's not "transparency" to trash an employee/business partner/whatever after severing ties, it's just being vindictive and egotistical
|
Damn, that sucks! I was hoping to see more of Soulkey in ClanWars and in general, too.

damn, soulkey been getting some negative press about him. The one with rumor match fixing against creator game 1 in GSL code S and now this really disappointing...

On-topic: Sad to see Soulkey demonstrating such a low level of professionalism.

TB already nuked his account. Your trolling has no power here

Such sulky behaviour, for shame.

It's so sad that this thread occurred after TB left. Maybe if people stir enough shit, there is still a chance for a show!

Hasn't this been SoulKey's attitude since Woojin Stars dissolved though? His results have just been getting worse and worse and he just doesn't seem to care lol.
Edit: Also the obligatory note that the game against Creator was suspect as well.
