Team Ascension is extremely proud to announce that Max “Astrea” Angel, the WCS Premiere League Protoss, is departing ROOT Gaming and joining Team Ascension.
Astrea had previously played under the Team Ascension banner for many years prior to joining ROOT, and his recent success is only the latest in a career filled with impressive performances. After he defeated Scarlett to qualify for WCS Challenger League, and then again to earn his place in Premier League, we were proud to watch Astrea compete live at ESL’s Burbank studio. Despite not advancing, he was able to showcase his extraordinary talent -- long known within the North American scene -- for a larger audience. We are excited to welcome this rising young star back into our ranks.
Like Astrea, Team Ascension as a whole is on the rise. After acquiring IvDgaming in January, we have been working hard to help develop our players and organization to an even higher standard. The Ascension Team League has begun and we are making progress toward forming a team house. And now, with the addition of Astrea, one of the most formidable line-ups in the North American scene has only gotten stronger.
