It's like 2h30 from paris by car Hmm, then I can understand the raised eyebrows. Two hours and a half isn't that short and if you add extra time for a flight (+ actually going to the airport in your country) or car from other regions of France it could be really long...

French people complaining about the location choice. French people complaining. How surprising d: Cmon people, can't we just enjoy having an eSports event in France that is not organized by a French organizer? Tours is not Paris, sure, but it's not that bad.

See you guys there! I need to brush up on mon francais, ca fait un bout temps!

I already said it once, at least it's not Canada where everything ever happens in Toronto... thousands of Km's away from me.

You re right! Tours actually has good connection to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for our foreign friends (but if you land at Orly you re screwed). 1hr train (TGV) from Paris too. Plus it has a reputation as a nice student city so I am expecting cheap pubs and whatnot!
Lorning, are you planning to attend? Let's meet up! I ll bring my CJ gear :p

I'm not complaining, I'm sympathizing with people from other countries. It takes a lot of passion to go from like, Germany to Tours :D

Germans drive cars, we gonna have zero problems. Just driving slow on french streets annoys us. (and paying for it)
And Events in Canada and talking every eventthread about toronto? Com on, it is like living in Vladivostok and complaining about events in Moskau while they just could take the plane to korea.

Have you seen the opportunities they got, esp. with regards to prices, places, etc. in France? I really don't know where they could've done that in Paris for a decent price... It may seem random considering the cities in France, but not that much once you take everything into account. Looking forward to be there. Oh and to meet fellow TL members of course The only problem with Tours is that isn't near to a big airport so isn't easy to go there. It's time to spend lots of money for the eSport passion! The pun makes it all worth it.

the place is also really nice for sightseeing
dreamhack did a good choice by picking tours

anyone complaining about the city don't account for difference of cost, it makes sense that they start with Tours first.

Hehe, try Romania to Tours

Yes a Dreamhack in France (and double yes for it not being in Paris) ! Also if it happens in the building the picture of the OP posted (likely) then it's right in front of the train station so that part of the travel will be very short and easy

We all know that Paris is an expensive shithole but Lille and Strasbourg would have been way better than Tours.
|
Lille or Strasbourg ?! At least Tours is more or less in the center of France, going to Lille or Strasbourg is a pain for a majority of french people, they're remote towns.

Tours is way more remote than Lille or Strasbourg, the only thing that count is transport time, still gonna be awesome anyway.
