Hey!
i'm going to organize a Satellite tournament for BattleGrounds Detroit ( USA/Canada only ) for masters+ players ( so Masters & GM only because i don't have much time to put this together otherwise would have included Diamond aswell. Keep in mind the tournament is 18+ aswell ) i'll provide a flight for the winner and he also gets to room with me as i asked for a room with 2 beds just for that. (yeah im not millionaire :D) and i'll also take care of the Tournament ticket ~
An anonymous donor offered to help send another player and RotterdaM aswell ! so the qualifier will send at least 2 players to detroit including flight + hotel(same one as crew/most players) + tournament ticket.
A few people asked if they could donate on the various websites i posted about this Satellite on so i will allow people to donate. A flight should be between 400~600 depending on the airport the qualified player has to leave from and hotel as far as i know the one most of the crew/players stay at is full.
so it would have to be another one, i looked a bunch online & i think i'm gonna budget 100$/night for this so 400$
Ideally fundraising 1000$ means we can send another player which would be great if we're a bit short i will probably help
with that too, if we go above that depending on the amount, i'll either refund the extra, use it for showmatches after consulting the donors that gave the extra, or even possibly reach enough to send a 4th player.

US/Canada as in location, it is about the price of the flight not nationality, as long as a player is located in either of those countries and they are willing to attend the tournament they are free to participate.

It was great to see this pop up in my Twitter feed.
I'll be attending BattleGrounds Detroit because I have a friend who lives there (so my trip accomplishes two purposes). It will be the first major live SC2 event I've spectated since MLG D.C. in 2010. Far too long...
I was already excited to go, but the thought that another player or two might be competing thanks to ToD's actions and our help simply makes things even more fantastic. Who knows! Maybe in Detroit I can meet one of the people who wins this competition.

Hey ToD, you can try using Priceline for some cheaper hotels in Detroit, and not worry about it being low quality or run down. A couple years ago, I managed to stay in I think Delta Hotel at Buffalo for $50/night. You shouldn't have much problem finding a Hyatt or 4 points or Courtyard for say $70/night if you use "Name Your Own Price" on Priceline.

He just read it on stream. I sent that $5 donation. Not much but every little bit helps. CPUs can safely run up to 80C and GPUs can run up to 90C. The lower the better. I hope Rotterdam is using an aftermarket cooler on his Core i7 so that his temperatures are lower and he can actually overclock his CPU so that he'll get more performance and less lag.
You can check CPU temperature using CoreTemp and GPU temperature using MSI Afterburner!

They can run up there, but Sub-60 is normally the best range for normal conditions. Colder the better, however, is better.

The first showmatch money came from Rotti, Nate and ToD directly. The second showmatch came from money donated during the first showmatch and afterwards. None of it came from money donated during ToD's tournament. They did the showmatches afterwards for fun.
