MLG failed imitating the GSL 2 years ago and will now fail again trying to immitate WCS America. How so? I recall most MLGs being good post-Columbus 2011 (one of the best weekend events ever). I'd of firmly put MLG ahead of DH and definitely IEM purely because they managed to pull a healthy amount of Koreans. Though this is no longer the case these days..
And why do you think IEM and DH still put up 5 great SC2 events a year while MLG is down to one?

Hm, odd correlation to attempt there.
We have had 6 events so far this year, just one 1 for sc2. Business models change, but last week we were at Xgames, this week at E3, and next week Anaheim. We are plenty busy with events, and doing really well

I can try to get Leenock to tell you he's going. But anyway here's Choyas message:

Unless it's for some sort of host role, I don't see this being good for the quality of the tournament. He is completely out of the loop. In 2012 or early 2013 I would maybe have had a different opinion.
I really enjoyed his casting at Lone Star Clash, even though he's out of the loop with meta he's play by play anyway. And he'll have been working on getting up to speed anyway, it's likely MLG had him booked for a while before this announcement.
That, and it's like a loyalty thing, since he casted for them when they ran WCS and before.

Gonna be close, DRG is in top shape, Jaedong should be on tilt after throwing HSC.

Here's Choya's Ticket as well, that's why I am like 100% sure he's going. I will just try to get Leenock to tweet you or something

Whoa, best casting team ever!

rofl did choya buy a ticket without even being signed up for the tournament

Nice lineup, wish I was going!

Found it on the clarity gaming post: @cCav All in all we really just felt it was the right time to put the team down. We will still be sending Sarovati and Reborn to MLG and fulfilling our contractual obligations to them. They'll have all travel and lodging paid for, and also receive a daily stipend to eat.

If CJ herO goes I think he's got a really good chance

I am assuming the whole tournament will be broadcasted on the MLG service, but I am afraid this will hurt viewership numbers. Am I wrong?

The phrase "so far" would be useful for the Open Bracket listing in the OP.

I really want Rain to go, but then I remembered that disastrous 2012 GSL forfeiting thing...
