The biggest international SC2 cup in Taiwan will take place at the 2014 Taiwan Open, to be held at the expo dome in Taipei! Taiwan eSports League and Blizzard Entertainment will be welcoming all of the world's finest players, and welcoming all player's of master's league and above on the Taiwan and Korea server, open brackets will be handled and conducted by TeSL as well as eGamers. Stay on the lookout for the Taiwan eSports League Open Qualifiers Open sign-up whole-world-qualifier tournament. The 8 strongest players from Taiwan in the TeSL W-Mall Super-League will be invited to this event, in addition to 4 international players that will be invited, and 4 players that will qualify through open qualifiers on the Taiwan and Korea server. They will compete for 750,000 NTD (USD $25,000 ) as well as 4000 WCS Points!

Taiwan eSports league has, since its creation, always strived to promote eSports events in Taiwan, and Blizzard Entertainment happens to hold the same view. With the close cooperation of both organizations, four years after both organizations have been conducting Starcraft II tournaments, the 1800 WCS Point TeSL super league was introduced. This encouraged the players of this Nation to progress towards the WCS, and also encouraged international players to join the tournament.

In order to make a better commitment to our viewers, the tournament dates will be August 8th and August 9th on stage for Taiwan Open Starcraft II. This will be Taiwan's biggest Starcraft II international cup, and at the same time is Asia's first WCS Tier 2 4000 point tournament. In order to fulfill all related WCS regulations, open registration will be allowed for the 2014 Taiwan Open Starcraft II world qualifiers and brought to existence.

Only players that have a Starcraft II account that is master's and above on the Taiwan and Korea server, and are sure that they will be able to attend the offline event on August 8th and 9th should enter the Taiwan Open Starcraft II World Qualifiers. The qualifiers will be handled by egamers and only 4 players will be able to qualify through said tournament. Then 8 players will be selected based on their performance, and 4 spots will be reserved for players with the strength to take the championship.

Taiwan eSports League (TeSL) is also very happy to announce here that the Taiwan Open will be conducted from August 8th August 10th, and with the highest standards will forge this summer's greatest eSports event, and invites all eSports lovers and enthusiasts to continue to lock their attention on WCS and TeSL. The following are all the details you will need to know about the Taiwan Open as well as the global qualifiers.

Thanks for the translation, Breaker, but I think tournament announcements go in the SC2 General section.

This will be the first time in four years that this event has ever had an English stream. We will be announcing the casters relatively soon.

Sorry for the confusion. The entire event takes place from August 8th to August 10th, but SC2 will only be available for 2 of the three days.

Haha for a moment I thought the first place won a 300.000$ prize xD Taiwanese dollars are worth 0,033289 US dollars, so 300.000 TWD is roughly 10.000 US$ for those wondering (like I did )

To clarify, total prize pool is 750,000TWD, which is roughly 25,000 USD.
That is a lot of prize pool and judging by the sign up so far it will be an amazing tournament!!
You guys should totally tune in to watch BreAKerTV's casting!

Very cool tournament, I always like seeing Taiwanese players play, but the timezone difference for me makes it really hard.

Qualifiers are today
There's no reason for Korean players to not try their hand in this, with so few opportunities on that side of the globe

Congrats to the top 16 players making it to Stage 2: Jim, sOs, Terminator, Nado, Cure, XY, Reality, Center, Terror, Departure, ByuL, Leenock, iAsonu, 혐갓샘, Pet, TRUE.

Some players only had to play 1 Bo3 due to the massive walkovers from having barcode IDs.

Upsets: Nado 2-1 Maru, Terror 2-1 Hurricane, Departure 2-0 Avenge, 혐갓샘 (who is this?) 2-0 Curious, Terminator 2-1 Life.

All of the yoeFW players have been qualified through their performance in the TeSL circuit (save for the Korean players Leenock and San).

Someone has updated the LP page and indicated 혐갓샘 is KassiA.

Sick plays from DeParture, now I see why Gerrard kept fielding him in proleague. I would of liked to see a terran advance but i'm just glad that the prime players are doing well this tournament.
