Why do people trot out these lines as some immutable factual truth? People are all different you know? Idra never really seemed to enjoy the game, but his competitive spirit kept him playing despite that and I'm sure he's not alone. I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility to think that some pros actually enjoy the game though. :p

Actually, koreans are what makes tournaments interesting. Wishing BK to achieve success in Dota (though i have absolutely 0 interest in MOBA). As for me, i see this foreign scene shrinking thing as something inevitable and logical. This game is meant to be played by koreans. There always will be a few Stephanos and Naniwas here and there to amuse us. But overall, whatching tournaments w/o decent koreans is the most boring thing (including WCS EU/AM).

Personally, I really really enjoy playing a somewhat hard game (though fairly easy compared to bw) with a skill gap that you'll probably never reach. Starcraft 2 has been my favourite game to play for over 2 years now and I often find myself not playing other games/finishing singleplayer games because I just end up playing starcraft. By no means am I pro and I don't even play in online tournaments, I simply enjoy constantly improving in a game that puts all responsibility on myself. Especially given that nowadays most games are made to be as accessible for newbies as possible (or how I like to call it made so your grandma can be good at it) I just really appreciate how hard starcraft is if you don't have any experience in bw/war3. I think hots is far better and more fun to play than wol and I find mobas to be very unfun to play for several reasons. So you might wanna be careful with the word everyone, as there are plenty of people who genuinely enjoy playing star 2. I think it's more of a matter of people preferring team games and not being able to deal with the pressure that comes with playing 1 v 1. I mean 1 v 1 games have always been less popular than team games, kinda how 5 v 5 CS ended up being way more popular than 1 v 1 Quake. Also I really don't understand all the foreigner vs korean crap. I couldn't care less about someones ethical background, jesus I watch pro gamers because I wanna be blown away by how good they are, not by them speaking English or being funny on camera. Koreans work the hardest and put in the most amount of time while showing the highest quality of games so they deserve to be in the dominant position they are in. I personally prefer watching whoever shows the best games not who has the same skin color as I.
