Also, I think he's supposed to go to the army soon. When I contacted lygf regarding signing Genius, the owner said that Genius was getting ready to go to the army.

TBH judging from the games he made up his mind before and just decided to make it formal once he was out of WCS EU.

TheStC may be retiring as well, although this tweet is somewhat difficult to interpret. Don't want to make a thread without any kind of confirmation. As for Genius, it's not too surprising after the LYGF fiasco and his big dropoff in skill. GL in the future to him

GL in the future to him Last season TheStC said he was going to retire if he didn't make it into premier but he did. I wouldn't be surprised if he is also retiring now that he's out of WCS. Sad to see both players go

Actually, Golden is full time at the moment, and in Germany, not Korea. There are casuals, like Pigbaby, SSanaEE, who even though retired, still participate in online tournaments, probably to make some money on the side. You have many former GSL players who 'retired' or whose team disbanded but then went on to join foreign teams, like Balloon, who was on StarTale until he retired, but then joined mYinsanity. There are players like Noblesse (MVP), Mamuri (SKT1), Remember (Prime), Galaxy (MVP), MadBull (NSH), ShowTime (FXO), Tassadar (FXO), Neige (Azubu), Sia (ZeNEX), Emir (Prime), Treme (StarTale), Venus (TSL) as well as many others who were never pro but have found foreign teams and are doing reasonably well like Hunter (NewRoSoft), Gamja (IvD), MotoK (RuW), StuN (Deimos) etc

TheStC was one of my favourites... he was so good back in 2011-12 when I first started watching sc2. The good ol' ogs days are through, and I'm afraid for ex-slayers too.

I'm not gonna show any compassion, good riddance.

But this was before HotS buffs made skytoss a regular PvZ build and having the balls to go for a carrier build in a Bo3 where if you lose you go to Code B is truly something special.
