In a shocking turn of events, KT Rolster suffered an embarrassing elimination from the playoffs at the hands of MVP.Billowy. Formerly going by the ID Lure, Billowy came into a match with few achievements and even less expectations. Though Billowy's decent PvP record in Round 2 suggested he might be able to take out Stats and give MVP a good start, few Proleague viewers believed he would be capable of much more. Instead, Billowy played some of the best StarCraft 2 of his career as he tore through the entire KT line-up of Stats, Zest, TY and Flash to advance his team to the next stage of the playoffs.




The series started off with a display of "classic" PvP as Stats was caught completely off-guard by Billowy's blinkless stalkers. With Billowy's stalkers marching straight into Stats' mineral line and taking out all but eight probes, the KT Protoss eventually had no choice but to put MVP up 1-0.

With their starter defeated, KT decided that it was time to go directly to their big hitter. Fielding Zest – the player who single-handedly won KT the Round 1 finals – seemed like a good enough decision at the time. A comeback seemed all but assured.

However, Billowy was unfazed by his opponent's stature and was equally unfazed by his proxy stargate antics. Sticking to his 3-gate pressure plan, Billowy handled Zest's oracle attack about as well as possible. Once Zest's oracle ran out of energy, Billowy launched a stalker/zealot attack that was just strong enough to break through Zest's defenses and force the second GG from KT. Suddenly, the score was a surprising 2-0 in favor of MVP.

"The best TvP player in Proleague" came out to stop Billowy but, like Zest before him, TY fell flat against the resurgent NEO Starleague 2012 champion. Billowy, staying true to the stalker-focused style of the two games prior, went into blink stalker tech but changed his mind upon scouting TY's defenses. Nonetheless, Billowy still managed to take advantage of his blink tech none, using his stalkers to pick off medivacs and bio units that went out of position. Unable to break Billowy before he reached both archon and colossus tech, it was only a matter of time until TY had to surrender to his opponent's superior forces.

With DRG looking a little annoyed that he wouldn't be allowed to carry MVP, Billowy went to work on KT's final weapon: Flash. Remaining faithful to the stalkers that had played an important part in his previous wins, Billowy went for a hidden twilight build. Flash seemed to be in great position after scouting the Twilight Council and throwing down bunkers in response, but would make a huge mistake at the most crucial moment.

Thinking that Billowy was calling off the all-in and transitioning to the late game, Flash salvaged his bunkers to move out onto the map. Unfortunately for Flash, he couldn't have been any more wrong as Billowy had been adding more gateways for an even bigger all-in. Running headlong into an army of blink stalkers and well placed time-warp, Flash's army was wiped out. With a pained expression, Flash gave the final GG to send MVP into the next round of the playoffs.


As spectacular as Billowy's all-kill was, it's too early for Team MVP to celebrate. With barely any time to rest or prepare, they're going right up against their next opponent in CJ Entus.

Like MVP, CJ Entus is a team that turned came into Round after an abysmal Round 1 performance. Both teams have partially redeemed themselves by making it to the playoffs, and now it's time to seek even greater glory.
