After losing to herO and Zest in Code A, Stork was interviewed (strangely) and he expressed frustration over GOM's booth's soundproofing. TRUE (JinAir), after his winning, was interviewed and he also call out the soundproof issue.
Interview (shortened) with Stork
Q: So you said it was the audience's voice that your hidden probe was exposed.
Stork: I can hear the casters and audience' voice today. PvP relies on the opening. If these voices can be heard, then the strategy is probably exposed. In most games today, I was the one who moved first. Hearing these voices made my unable to concentrate. I can hear "Ah!" when I play and it makes me very uneasy. If the audience's voice is smaller than the game's sound then it's ok but now it is the opposite, which you will take notice of. For example, in the game with Zest, I can hear 'Ah!!!', and then my proxy stargate was scouted.
Q: Why did you pause?
Stork: I heard "Ah" but if my opponent says he didn't hear "Ah", then people will probably say that I am the one who acts like an ass. In the last match, when I heard "Ah" from the audience, my probe was scouted. It's so frustrating. But if my opponent truly didn't hear, then I can't do anything about it. Even if I type "PP", the things (probe and proxy) have already happened, so it won't help. I hope this won't happen next time.

Q: Recently, Stork said he can hear the caster's voice in game. What do you think?
TRUE: If the caster's voice is too loud, it is possible to hear. If the music stops (translator: he probably mean the background music in the casting), then you can hear it very clearly. I think something should be done here.
ouch, well, that needs fixing if it's a case. They should run a test trial and simulate what happened then she if it is infact the case that there is problems with soundproofing.

Dreamhack have booths but IEM/ESL usually do not (don't think I've ever seen them have one). Worst I've seen was in WCS EU when Grubby didn't even have the proper headset, it was just an ordinary one for audio.
So we are hearing no complaint about this until he played in group G? I am not saying that they are liars, but it is really weird that all of those other players played a week before Stork and TRUE and we didn't hear a single word.

I'm inclined to believe stork because he's always been a no-bullsh-shit straigh talking veteran who's not afraid to admit his mistakes and weakness and speak honestly about the scene.

All the previous interviews in which players said GOM booth is the best were referring to the booth's comfortability, because it was much larger than the OGN's.
Sounds like less of a booth and more of a sound and speaker placement issue. Also, sound proofing head phones and gear are far more effective than any booth will ever be. That with white noise could be aich easier fixing the problem.

Just came to think of the upcoming IEM Katowice. Now imagine 10.000 screaming fans with the players open on the stage (unless they change that). That shit will be absolutely insane. :D
People need to understand that at the point where booths are literally plastic and plywood, they provide little noise security other than a placebo for the viewership. Stop skimping out on five dollar earmuffs that do nothing but keep ears slightly warm. Buy some actual earmuffs like 500 dollar Peltors that provide 27db noise reduction, and require real in-ear monitors that provide even more noise reduction.
This problem isn't just present for GOM. Having been to multiple events over the past years, booths are the most fraudulent thing and everyone seems to think they are sound-proof. All they do is ruin shots of players because of internal reflections on the shitty plastic 'glass' and provide branding space for a marketing department.

Personally I think you're being rather over-optimistic here. That is the situation as it currently is; but it doesn't have to stay that way.
Lets be honest, KeSPA does not have a good record as far as GOM goes and would just love to force them out of the scene. Remember the OSL/GSL boycott that the now-deceased eSF sorted out by fighting back? Without the eSF now there's nobody to retaliate, especially given there aren't many Korean non-KeSPA teams anyway. GOM is completely exposed to KeSPA's whims.
By boycotting the GSL they could fatally undermine its legitimacy within a season or two. They simply step in with their own tournament to take over. GOM is left with nothing in the SC2 scene and KeSPA has its monopoly back.

Im pretty sure nearly all the younger players wouldn't say anything because it would cause drama and give them a bad rep but seeing his game esp vs. hero, I knew that something was off. The way hero scouted & microed that stalker, I was 100% sure there was something strange about it. Even if something couldve been seen for a split second it doesn't mean that a player will instantly see and react accordingly but a reaction by the crowd which can be heard can reveal everything...at the end, it's not good for us, the viewers.
Stork is by many kespa progamers seen as a spokesperson because of his age & status. At least I hope that something like this won't happen again...
