Originally, only twelve new players were to be determined last weekend. Due to the retirement of duckdeok from StarCraft II, as well as Lucifron quitting WCS, two more spots became available. Having gathered the most WCS points in WCS Europe 2013, Mvp takes duckdeok's place and advances to the Premier League. Mvp's and Lucifron's Challenger spots have been filled with the seventh and eighth place finishers (Revolver and strinterN) of yesterday's Wildcard Qualifier.
Mvp to take duckdeok's spot in WCS EU Premier

Edit: I just noticed it Mvp's case it was points from WCS EU, not WCS generally. My statement is probably wrong, Revival at least got more points than Taeja in WCS AM alone, maybe others did too.

I love MVP, but giving away spots? No. They should be earned. It cheapens the authenticity of the competition if you do something like this.

Really? They had to promote someone and it makes sense to do it to the best player from last year in that Region.

I understand where you are coming from. But with many of the tournaments having invites (even the original WCS EU/NA), I don't think this one is as big since they actually used WCS points from last year. Hardly any tournament is full qualifier based nowadays.

That cheese was bold though, like Jaedong bold. He got my respects for that although I'm not a big fan of him or anything since I missed his domination period. I think having him play in RO32 will just make the tournament better overall

I think having him play in RO32 will just make the tournament better overall It's fair to give the slot to Mvp because if someone is going to make it for free it should be the person currently in Challenger who had the most WCS EU points last year. Since that's Mvp, that's fine with me. As for his actual form, it's hard to say because he played so darn little in 2013 after S1. He didn't get very far in either S2 or S3, played a grand total of ONE game in GSTL all year (a loss against Scarlett--she all-inned him with mass banelings if I remember right?), and he got eliminated so quickly from Blizzcon that it was hard to gauge him. . so I don't know if using mass hellbats against Jaedong on Derelict indicates that Mvp was still stuck in his pre-hellbat-nerf days or that he intentionally pulled out an "obsolete," unexpected build. We'll have to see.

Just pointing out that he went toe to toe with Innovation when he was in beast mode and almost won. That by itself showed that his skills are still there and he can be a potential champion again.
