Casters never let the lucifron hype train grow naturally from results like say a scarlett, instead the casters just hyped him as a favourite at every event he went to. All those failures probably took a toll on his mindset causing his leave of absence you see today. I will never forget the first time I took notice of the lucifron hype train as before this match I never really paid much attention to it. It was during one of those small 8 player dh invitationals. Can't remember which one, but I think it was dh valencia. Lucifron was facing DRG at his beastly peak when DRG was wrecking gstl and stuff. The casters were hyping lucifron so much this tourney and were predicting him to win it all and that he would beat DRG. DRG proceeded to 2-0 lucifron in 2 very one sided bops. From that point on I knew the lucifron hype was mainly a caster manifestation and totally undeserved. Kept waiting for him to prove me wrong, but he never did.

So, who will be the new foreign Terran hope EU? Thorzain doesn't seem to be at his top form right now. Dayshi has switched to random. Maybe Uthermal will show some good games? Oh let's not forget about Happy who was so good lately

I always thought Lucifron was good but maybe a bit too overhyped. Also never forget the Thor drop.

They can't funnel the additional time to get significantly better by playing on EU ladder to give them better tournament results, work ethic or no. It's less about skill and more about whether there is any money they can significantly earn. Non-koreans barely earn enough to make it a full time job.

Nerchio has from the beginning been studying and playing "professional" on the side, and he has for a long time been a top tier player, but then again he is one of few exceptions (some already mentioned above). But it is rare that it works out

They've finally picked up their first Korean in Dear, and now Mana and hOpe are released, and Lucifron is likely retiring. Changes upcoming for this team

Also, in 2013 alone (despite his horrible post-hellbat performances), he was still the 6th highest earning foreigner.

![]() It's true that I also expected him to shine by winning a big tournament this year. That didn't happen, but it's not a real dissapointment, I've always believed that he can fight with the koreans face to face, but he needed more time... 1 year has been insuficient. Anyways, I wish him good luck with studies, and after all the effort, some time off is always good. I'm sure he will come back even stronger when he recover his eager to compete, and he will shine again as one of the best foreigners. Keep fighting Pedro!

I really enjoyed his games, he was one of the only foreign Terrans that I ever got a feeling might gain some traction. Sad to see him go. To those that call him all hype, you didn't watch his games, only his results (which just like all foreign Terrans, were not Terribly impressive). His games however, from a Terran perspective, were quite excellent. I think his timing on leaving the game further shows how smart he is in tactics. Good luck bra!
