Also I have nothing against Whiplash but pls NO SNM! Just NO! SNM won't be casting 100% (well more like 99% cus I'm not an insider). He's studying. Exam in 2 hours, another one in 26 hours, take home exam due tonight, and essay due tomorrow night.
I think that should sum up what I'm doing right now.

Well the horrible casters from the start of PL turned out to make a lot of progress i feel. I really like how they improved.
Since i kind of understand okay what is going on, i don't mind having caster make mistake as long as they get me hyped

He's talking out of his butt. Let me explain something for those who like to bitch and moan about viewership. Compared to every other bush league out there and the GSTL the numbers are similar across the board. Why do I pay attention to the actual numbers myself? So I can kibosh people like Larkin every time they try to get smart. The numbers really are no different on this website when it comes to western teams playing against each other with TB to SKT versus CJ in PL, which is quite remarkable because it shows consistency in such events. It doesn't matter if it's foreigners. It doesn't matter if it's Koreans or necessarily the time of the event. People will tune it to watch and the key thing to note here is across the board the numbers are almost identical. It's so miniscule it's not worth noting. I know TB said he brings in a few thousand more people because of his viewer base and this is true for things like the ATC, but it's not a significant impact.

Okay... You kind of lost me. I don't know why you are talking about Total Biscuit.
If he's talking about low number of watch for PL in western it's maybe because it starts so fucking late in Europe (well... I should say early => 4am). But there's VOD. (and free ones ! Or 5$ a year).
I really don't understand why people are always talking numbers. Numbers matter for companies. What matters for viewers are games. And PL always delivered.
Maybe i misunderstood though

So weird that there is no Woongjin... So what are Soulkey and sOs doing? I am surprised s different kespa team didn't pick them up.

I don't know if there's a KespA team that can afford both.

It would be awesome if they went to KT though. Imagine sOs and Soulkey being practice partners with Flash... Omg.

I would have to cheer for sOs though... KT definitly needs players. Flash is the only one that succeed (and it's relative FOR NOW) but even Chintoss and CrazyHydra are far behind.
Maybe they are practicing like madmen to tear up PL. I really hope so !

I didn't read every comment yet but am I the only one who liked Whiplash and Super Nova Maniac?
They brought energy and excitement imo. I loved the "Geeeeegeeeeeeeeeee" every time someone won a match and SPM always had a ton of cool facts even if he did stumble on his fluidity at times. I thought they did a great job overall.

Yeah they really improved throughout the year. I disliked them very much at the start and then they improved quite a lot.

Woot! I hope the map pool is not the same as WCS's. Hoping that SPL2014 really changes SC2.

Precisely.
You did get a little lost in my rant. I found that timezone has very little effect because when you compare let's say the ATC numbers to PL numbers they're very close. Reason I mentioned TB is because of his fan base and the viewers he brings in to a cast (we can coin it caster viewership) because he can bring in a few thousand more.

Actually iirc the highest western views Proleague ever got was when I casted it with Mr Bitter. Also EGTL always got the highest views in Proleague when they played, so the argument that foreign owned teams somehow don't bring in more eyeballs is nonsense.

I haven't seen flash play in months!
Love proleague, wonder why there are always so few viewers on the English stream. How many viewers do we have on average on the Korean stream?
|
So who's going to be our casters?! :D
|
Please KT sign JD for Proleague
|
maannn, can't wait for Proleague to start again!! Big question though; will there be zoozoo and a feeling of shooting? :D

I think he's just talking in the context of foreign team vs foreign team in something like ATC and not EGTL in proleague. Obviously EGTL is bringing more viewers... they have some of the most well known players in SC2! But EGTL playing in ATC vs Proleague probably draws similar numbers.
Also... I wish you and bitter could have casted the whole season Good commentary and insight, good flow... sigh.
