TaeJa meets HerO... again...
sick line-up though
Such a stacked tournament. Life looks really scary so far.
edit: And Innovation vs Jaedong is going to be sick!
Noooooo Taeja v Hero!??!!?
However, every other match seems fscking amazing. Going to try to catch some of this while I visit Hong Kong for the weekend!
This fire vs ice thing within Liquid is so heartbreaking HerO </3
So how come Naniwa is second in his group when he's got the higher map score?
I think top 3 are 3.Patience (im allowed to make weird predictions that even I dont believe) 2. Life (as much as I want him to win there is a massive thorn in his side) 1. INnoVation (I think the conqueror of HotS has returned)
Dream top 3 Polt sOs Naniwa

Well that is definitely a dream top3 considering sos and polt cant both get top3 :p
Hoping for a Naniwa vs JD finals. Then no matter who wins, I'm happy
god unless innovation's tvz has gotten worse that's going to be a tough match for jaedong. Looking forward to it regardless :D
I am so frickin' pumped. Too bad about Taeja vs Hero though . I really want Hero to win the whole thing!
3 rematches: Taeja vs Hero Polt vs Hyun Life vs Naniwa This gonna be great and GG Goswser!!!

I know. There's a Liquid team kill in almost every tournament where there's more than 1 Liquid player. Hero and Taeja have met each other like 6+ times in the past - granted one of those was in the Dreamhack Winter 2012 finals. They should make a curse where if 3 or more Liquid players enter the same tournament, there will always be a Liquid team kill.
I like the top 4 of each group advance and it changes into a double elimination bracket with the bottom 2 going to the Losers' Bracket.
On November 29 2013 09:58 Greendotz wrote: So how come Naniwa is second in his group when he's got the higher map score? He doesn't have higher map score, both of them have +3 (6-3 vs 7-4). And since they are equal in map score, next tiebreaker is head-to-head which Patience won.
Edit: I seriously love the format of this tournament, both the group stage and double elim in the playoff.

Holy shit the upper bracket.
Jesus christ people love bitching about that Liquid teamkill. First of all, it's double elimination, so neither one of them is immediately eliminated. This also guarantees a Liquid player in Winner Round 2. If they were separated, it is possible both of them could have been defeated in WR1.
The format of this tournament is awesome! Go TaeJa!
Sucks that the World Champ is out But there is still lots of awesome players left to cheer for :D

sos isnt out hes just in the lower bracket :/

Patience (Bringing his Korean A(zubu) game to Dreamhack) > MMA Taeja > Hero Innovation > Jaedong Naniwa - Life (this is actually really hard to call - I think Nani will be totes ready for the young Zerg prodigy - but it is Life, and Life does find a way.)
JYP (super impressive group play!) > TLO Leenock > ForGG sOs > Goswser Polt > Hyun
Polt vs. Hyun elimination match straight off the bat.
I knew it was gonna be Taeja and HerO...
Look forward to that PvT between Patience and MMA! :D

F*CK that Jaedong vs Innovation is like the final match!
Taeja's turn to win dreamhwack =)
Jaedong.
You know it was meant to be. But at the finals, who can say?
Who is this Patience guy? I've never heard of him before, but to get 3-1 in a bracket with Naniwa and Hyun means that he must be pretty good.
this bracket looks sick
can't wait for BogusDong, i hope it's on at a reasonable hour for me

That is one easy first match for Life
Sick. Other than Life vs Naniwa and sOs vs Goswer there shouldn't be any stomps (didn't watched JYP's games yesterday, but if he's the usual self, then even TLO have a chance). Also LR2 will be interesting, sOs vs either JD or Innovation and *probably* HerO vs Leenock. Would love to see JD vs Life too.

This so much.
Atleast I hope NaNi can get revenge on Life even if I want both of them to do well.
HYPE!
The group stage was really good and this bracket is stacked! This tournament just continues to impress every time!
Haha Naniwa have a rematch vs Life, if he wins he will have a rematch between either Jaedong or Innovation, if a loses he will have a rematch between either Polt or Hyun
*sigh*, poor TaeJa/HerO. Didn't this happen last Dreamhack Winter?

Yeah but in the finals which is where you want teamkills to happen

Yay, Life got an easy first match.
In all seriousness, some really good games today. Can't wait for DH to start!

Double elimination.. is that a first for dreamhack?

sick line-up though on the bright side, even if one of them loses, they can still get to the finals and win lol. Jaedong vs Innovation though, I'm not feeling optimistic for Jaedong :/ Either way, Jaedong fighting!
Does anyone know what order the WB is played`?
Very sick line-up, GL GL MMA ! I'm sure you can do it versus Patience
The winner's bracket is really stacked. Innovation vs Jaedong will be fantastic.
Also, I was really impressed by Jaedong's performance yesterday. He just keeps improving, and it makes me so happy to see. A tournament win for him is inevitable, and I can definitely see him winning this Dreamhack.
I'm really pumped for Nani vs Life. Naniwa usually gives good play versus a very strong opponent, even if Nani loses he does deliver some good games (like Leenock vs Nani a while back).
Also Jaedong vs Innovation :D I'm so pumped!
A damn shame that JD and Life have to meet in Round 2. At least none of them will be out just yet.

Hero needs to take a revenge))

Taeja vs Hero is starting to get ridiculous, so rogged :D

holy shit... Nani vs. Life. The guy really can't catch a break - and won't have it any other way :D

It's in the order Liquipedia shows; Patience vs MMA (starts in two hours from now) TaeJa vs HerO (in three hours from now) Jaedong vs INnoVation (in four) Life vs NaNiwa (in five)
Tip: In the bracket, if you click on the small 'i' icon between the names of the players, it shows extra Info. You can see the countdown-timer per match in that way

Well, I suppose it could technically happen again. They're just not allowed to lose any of their matches after they play each other. With this lineup though... not likely -_-

Otherwise, I start to think tournament organizers put Taeja vs HerO on purpose now as some sort of running gag !

@ Taeja vs. HerO - at this point it really is quite an absurdly cruel running gag...

Watch the winner of TaeJa/HerO end up beating JaeDong in the final.

Rebroadcast or vods for day 1 yet?

People arent bitching about it really, it just happens a lot and people are pointing it out. No need to get all angry.

Life vs Naniwa rematch, Jaedong vs Innovation, sickest matches ahead.

How the fuck is the Team Liquid kill so reliable?

I'd be more worried for Innovation if I was you, and that's not because JD is a monster of a player (though it certainly helps).

I would say JD and Innovation are VERY EQUAL I would even give an edge to Jaedong. Innovation was the best TvZ player no doubt when hellbats were good and some time after the patch but he really isn't that great anymore in any matchup. He is good and among the top tier players but he is not dominating and "THE BEST RTS PLAYER" not even close.
All of the matchups that could be legendary finals are unlikely to happen due to this braket. Life vs JD Inno vs JD HerO vs Taeja Taeja vs JD Naniwa vs anything - way too hard of a climb, I want him to go to finals but I dont think he can take out life and then right after JD or inno, and even if he wins there, HerO/Taeja/MMA/Patience still before the finals seems to be really really hard to go after you break your soul to beat the previous players) TLO vs anything - again, way to hard of a road to take. Leenock vs Life/JD - doesnt matter how it will go for him he will face one of them as he goes and I dont think he can beat them back to back or something like that. Naniwa vs TLO - only in our dreams, just hope we are all sleeping for the next 2 days.
