Day one of IEM Singapore concluded with five players making their way through the qualifying brackets and earning spots in the Ro16 group stage.
The Protoss duo of Squirtle and San advanced from bracket #1, while a Zerg duo of Curious and EffOrt made its way out of bracket #2. In a playoff match between the third player finishers in each bracket, Dream overcame Avenge to take the fifth and final spot.
With the five players through to the Ro16, the groups have been finalized.
Dreamhack and IEM, just after Redbull and before GSL "all stars", this tournament are so stacked !!!! I'm so hyped and excited about this Starcraft week end
Thought they showed Squirtle in DRGs group on the stream? Incorrect? Yes they definitely did, with Effort in Grubby's group. Why have they been switched?

Wait.. what?
She nearly 3-0'd sOs in fairly straight up games, whereas she beat MC 2-0 right after. She also said to be more confident against protoss nowadays. She actualy looks like the old Stephano right now, with even better mutalisk control, better game mechanics, decision makings and one of the best (including top Koreans) creep spread.

And Bomber will really be out for revenge after his epic loss to Scarlett at Red Bull Battlegrounds NYC a week ago. Game 3 of that match is one for the SC history books.
Yep...juggling sleep, work, SC2 viewing/playing and most importantly Wife will be a struggle over the next few days... obviously something has to win...Wife and SC2 are my picks.
Predictions: San, MVP - Effort, Happy - herO, Dream (sorry Scarlett and Bomber) - Squirtle, Grubby! go through to round of 8.

Yeah, Group A and Group C look pretty muc tied for the group of death in my book. This tournament was somehow under-hyped compared to DH and BattleGrounds, but it's going to be just as good!
