Guess I'll add my cents since i live in SE Asia.

Yes, physical affection between close male friends is common. Sitting on each other's lap, putting arms around shoulders, linking arms when walking. Physical violence between friends is ALSO a sign of a close bond. So the older (always and only the older) can give the younger a slap. All these actions are common cultural norms and don't deserve a second mention.

However, I do have a problem with some ppl saying that cuddling or holding hands is acceptable as I think it might lead to a misunderstanding for some westerners. We need to be clear that it’s also an age thing. After a certain age, holding hands with interlinking fingers, like one would do with their bf/gf, is not acceptable. Cuddling as in hugging in the theatre or on a bed, is not acceptable.

Also, it looked obvious to me that Parting and MC weren’t holding hands. Parting was just playing with MC's hands and fingers. If you're a westerner you might find that distracting or disconcerting (it shouldn’t be disturbing). As an Asian I just found it annoying, and apparently, so did MC, because he shook off Parting and gave him an annoyed look after a short time.

Guys, that's a fake slap. He's just slapping the back of his own hand, which produces the sound of a slap. It's such an old play.

May i ask who you are to deside on how people should show effection on one another ?

This is all nitpicking on 2 korean men who have a close connection with another in a culture that is accepting of that matter.
We in the west may find it strange, but for them so are many or our cultural traits.

People in the west in general have no problems when 2 korean men hug or hold hands. Those that do have to look at themselfs, there is no reason for asians to change there way of effection for the simple fact that "perhaps western might not like this" ! It's there culture and perhaps even yours, i mean really what's the big problem ?

I am pretty sure everyone could see that.

What should they say instead of, "OMG that slap was hilarious!"?

Should it be "OMG that fake slap on the back of his own hand was hilarious!"?

First one is better i think.

This video was hilarious tho, made me like MC even more, he looked like the boss in all of that interview. Even without winning in over a year.

Was surprised to see MC just flat out admit his pvp is bad and it will be impossible for him to win. I guess MC knew partings winrate right now too. Still, props on keeping it real and always putting on the show.

If seeing two men holding hands is "disturbing" to you, you might have a problem with homophobia.

Indeed. Me and my friends would have absolutely no problem doing this. And our culture is as western as it gets. Although I don't think it really has that much to do with East vs West. I can bet there's also plenty of easterners from the older generations that would look down upon what they are doing. Your statement is merely a testament to the fact that bigots love to project their own insecurities onto other people in fear of being judged for something that they perceive to be wrong because of closed-mindedness.

This video was really funny and shed some light on korean culture. My younger brother always goes bananas with the hugs on me when he is drunk, maybe he is so drunk that shame on hugging a man has faded away.

I really like Parting now, the pervert liar, and it was so funny how he lied that MC was gonna win while trying to hold his laugh back.

You're "disturbed" by different cultural norms? Quite a strong word in my opinion. Try to be more open-minded.

Alright... to be fair, the guy's from Bulgaria, so English isn't his first language. Maybe he didn't really understand the implications of the word "disturbed".

No worries everyone, its just a Korean thing. really and Asian thing actually. I have spend time in korea and that area and guys there are just more touchy feely than American or western men. just think of a big brother holding a little brothers hand across the street. I thought it was odd too at first, but its harmless.

Dude, you completely misread his post. He is just talking about HIS culture, not the decision he just made. He lives in SE Asia(as he stated and as it says in his profile) and he explained how things work there. He didn't decide on anything, just provided further explanation.

Stop all that accusation bs, of course people saying other cultures are disturbing are stupid, but we shouldn't need 7 pages to point that out. It completely takes away from the topic which is the content from the video.
