Team Epic is recruiting new players.
Former gomtv global game director(observer) @Startale_Legend launches a new e-sports team.
After hot six cup, he will retire from his old job, and will be the owner and playing-head coach of the new team.
With the objective of participating 2014 WCS and GSTL, he contacted ESF and started a open recruitment.
Legend said: " Even the beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will the team's future be. One step by one step it will be done. Also, through discovery of new faces, I want to make star players. "
The requirement for applying the recruitment is star-master, and whoever that can live in the teamhouse can apply to nclegend@honamail.net
1. name 2. age 3. ladder rank 4. thoughts as a gamer
ESF says: "We praise for Legend's new challenge, and we will help with our best to support the team through getting sponsorship, etc."
Epic.IdrA plz. Seriously though, it would be cool to see a team of completely unknown koreans and see how they progress over time and if they can become contenders.
Pretty cool. Hope he get can some good players, and turn to be something more than Azubu. Azubu to me was just where "leftover koreans that cant get a contract" went =\
Then he poach former teammates and we get Epic.Life. No wait Azubu disbands and there will be Epic.BBoongBBoong pffff ..ok pretty much all names will be epic

Alright, so I assumed it'd be as Startale's head coach, nontheless is he becoming a head coach and can't do obs-ing anymore. Pretty interesting and awesome turn of events IMO.
To be such a high calibre observer, Legend must have an in-depth knowledge of the game. He's a good person to be a head coach. I hope he becomes sucessful with starting the new team.
Why does everyone think Legend is financing the team? He is the head coach, not necessarily lead investor. His contribution to the business is probably "sweat equity" rather than financing.
Grats on pen icon, and if theyre getting names like that then they need to have more epic sounding names, something from old english a la indefatigable
Is it possibly not to became a fan by default? This is fucking Legend! The guy we don't really know, yet we have an almost intimate relationship wth him - his subtle movements of mouse to show important stuff while tastosis discuss the latest trends in korean sock colours are at a deeper level of communication than just words. And on top of it, almost noone has really seen so many top games from inside the game as he has. He can probably coach people just by observing over an empty map. Go EPIC!
Cheesy name, I agree, but considering the times we should be more than happy that new teams are being founded at all, especially with the significant brain drain ESF had recently.
Seeing the state of korean (esf) teams, this seems like an impossible task. But if it works out, it's a great news for everyone! e-sports team is a massive money sink...
Step 1: Recruit the Protoss player Ready (formerly of IM) Step 2: Revert him to the name he originally used in GSL. Step 3: Unveil the player now known as "Epic.Nuts"
Seriously though, awesome to see another ESF team, and the best part is that this seems to indicate that the GSTL will continue in 2014. Proleague is great and all but GOM's production and most importantly casters are soooo much better...
I hope legend find success with his team. He's such an awesome and funny guy. Have to admit i'll miss him observing he was so good at making the battles look even more epic.
Nice! Really hope this goes well for him. It would be great to see a new team built from the ground up become successful. Though I kinda wish he would start an observing team instead, where he trains a new generation of the most promising young gosu obs.

You do realize that a) snm won't cast it and b) kespa hasn't even announced the global casters yet. So to say that khaldor/wolf are better than two people we don't even know yet seems kinda weird.

Well obviously I'm not predicting the future here. If Proleague gets great English-language production and awesome casters I'll be the first to applaud them. Last I heard though Whiplash is still casting, and I don't hate him or think he's awful but he's certainly not anywhere near the level of Wolf/Khaldor. This makes me think the other caster will be someone relatively unknown like Whiplash/SNM were prior to Proleague, rather than someone really established.
I'd love to see Proleague hire Axslav now that he's left MLG, but I'm assuming at this late date they already have someone lined up.

At least it isn't one of those crazy long German names

Also, there's the allusion to Hyungjoon becomes a Progamer - Legend of the Swarm was partially parodying it, and guess what season 2 of that show was? He "started a team"...

Uh. I see only NSH disbanding in a (quite not that much) recent past, and Na'Vi, and it's more Na'Vi that would matter in this case, excepted for jjakji...
FXO became fOu again, STX Soul is still there as Soul...
Dunno why people don't like the name. So many opportunities for signed players to have funny names with this tag. I just hope Legend planned this out a lot. Kespa is reeling in the over-saturated Korean market, I don't know how well a new team can do in that kind of environment.
Really do wonder how he'll be able to fund this team. Obviously as an observer he probably made decent money, and could have lived in the ST house too so he doesn't have to worry about paying rent. It's not quite like the situation where Soul is in where they at least got some money due to their winnings off Proleague.
This is a really awful name for a team I'm surprised that Legend is able to fund this and everything though. Also I hope GOM can find a suitable observer replacement.
Honestly..... as much as it pains me to say it........ SC2 seems like a really bad investment at this point. I hope Legend has success with his new team and everything but... well, I'm sure he's smart enough to not risk his own money on this venture.

if it's bad news ppl are seeing it as an omen for the forthcoming doom. if it's good news, ppl call it stupid because of the doom to come. seriously, why do you even bother when it's all bad anyways?!

anyways, great news to hear that there are still people willing to invest into the korean scene. best of luck to team epic for their recruitment and all future endeavors.
This is exciting. The amount of ridicule directed at their team name is disappointing. It's like everyone's forgotten every other team and player name in the history of Starcraft.
On November 14 2013 22:17 Salient wrote: Why does ESF still exist? It made sense while KESPA was still focused on Broodwar, but not so much anymore.
eSF exists because the teams were afraid their players were going to get poached as soon as they heard that KeSPA will be transitioning into SC2.
I wonder was this good choice for ESF players after all. I cant remember that many ESF -> KeSPA moves after trade lock stopped (not including teams dropping down)
