With Proleague still on hiatus, CJ Entus is holding a few more special showmatches for the fans. After sweeping the Japanese in their last exhibition, this time CJ Entus takes on more formidable competition in the Jin Air Green Wings (formerly KeSPA 8th Team) and SK Telecom T1. In addition, CJ Entus will be using this exhibition to test out some innovative new formats for team competition.
Info: Basic info on the games.
CJ Entus vs. Jin Air Green Wings: Thursday, Oct 24 9:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
CJ Entus vs. SK Telecom T1:Friday, Oct 25 10:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
Casting: Mostly Korean, but Snute may drop in to try and cast some games.
Format: This is where it gets a little experimental and funky
Maps 1~2: Similar to standard Proleague style. Each team picks a player before hand, and they reveal who will be playing a day before the match.
Maps 3~4: Pick/Ban. An interesting take on the pick/ban of Moba games. For map three, each side suggests three players, and the other team BANS two of those players. For map four, each side suggests three players, and the other team PICKS one of those players.
Maps 5~6: Similar to Ace Match: Each team picks a player on the spot, who is revealed on the spot.
Other notes: Each team must reveal their six man roster two days before the game. Maps one and two are played simultaneously, but only one is streamed live. The other match is then streamed via increased-speed replay.

I'll be cheering for CJ! Go EffOrt
Well considering how much the company actually does? It should come as no surprise. I'm glad to see this initiative from one of the KeSPA teams because these teams need more exposure and who knows. Maybe Coach Park learned a thing or two from EG when it comes to generating content. CJ Media Group hwaiting.
Rooting for Jin Air, still hoping that Jaedong will return there seeing as he's technically on loan to EG (but that seems unlikely now).
I did something really stupid and got the date wrong in the reddit thread (I wasn't thinking straight from all the excitement) so I'm afraid to show my face there in fear of being lynched.
Nice This sounds good, I missed Proleague I hope they get an english stream for this. Also an alternative to twitchstream is always great to hear, I hope other organzisers start to use alternative streaming platforms in the future.
Man, between all the content they're putting out (lmao @ that dance video), Coach Park, Snute going over to practice there and now this, CJ really has been winning me over lately *-* More korean teams need to be like this!

If it is the same as vs Japan showmatch, it will probably happen in CJ's teamhouse

lol now I'm trying to think what the difference is...dunno
I'm really liking these lineups!! Most of these players have something unique to like about them for me.
Maybe teams alternate bans so it's a bit of "out of A,B,C, they would be weakest vs 1, so ban 1. Out of A,C, they would be weakest vs 3, so ban 3". End with C vs 2?

The pick/ban thing is pretty coolp, kinda sad that games one and two won't be shown though. I feel like there may be a chance we miss some awesome games (I know the other game is played at increased speed, but I don't think it will be the same).
Awesome take on the ban feature, tis pretty cool. I however think CJs roster is way to strong for JinAir's roster. I think that game will be one sided, also think CJ might surprise a few in this seasons ProLeague (whenever it starts xD)
This has Coach Park written all over it. Since he coached EG/TL team, he must have seen the huge international support outside of Korea. I guarantee he sees the bigger picture. If he can get his team out there and get more Koreans involved, this will be the #1 E-Sport easily. In Korea, it's behind LoL but outside of Korea, SC2 is #1.
I love the idea. Adapt to the situation and learn from it. That's what is going on here!
This is actually pretty cool... It's nice to see a change in the format, even if it is a little weird. The one thing that I find a little weird is the fact that the first two maps are played simultaneously. I'm trying to think about it but I can't quite wrap my head around the reasoning for it.
Maybe I am wrong but I thought that the ban/pick thing was pretty easy to understand/clear.
On the Map 3 ban, CJ will pick three of its own players, the best three for that map. Jin Air bans two of the players and vice versa. Remaining two players play.
On the Map 4 pick, Jin Air will pick three of CJ's players that they feel are worst for that map, CJ picks which one of the three players and vice versa.
CJ literally saving esports with awesome showmatch ideas. I'm definitely a fan now; though in this series I'll probably root for Jin Air just because I like underdogs

I would think it works like this:
Picking: Team A chooses 3 players from team B, team B then chooses which of the 3 plays. Banning: Team A chooses players from team A, team B can ban 2 of them

Only caught a few minutes of this sadly. I saw the ending video of CJ Entus Pop dancing in the moonlight teamhouse, they were considerably less enthusiastic XD

I'MAGHOST/HOCKEYPLAYER
My guess is that the team can't pick any of the 2 banned players in G3 to be choosed from in G4, i.e. - teams can propose only 3 out of 4 players (instead of the full roster - i.e. - all 6 of them, cause 2 were banned already) for the opponent to pick from.. Ofc. that would've been even more handicap if games 5 and 6 weren't in the format of an ace-match..
In other words and short - the ban stays valid for G4
lovin the format though - it's really cool to see that..

sorry to disappoint but Jaedong isnt leaving EG anytime soon. Also, there is no such thing as a loan to EG. That was just KeSPA PR trying to show that they have control ^^ CJ got this I think!

nah, that was just a misunderstanding in translation. From all the corrections that were made, it is clear - it actually is a loan. But it is a loan very similar to the ones done in EU football with a slight difference - after the contract ends, EG has the priority to offer a new one - only if JD doesn't accept it, he NEEDS to return to Kespa and go through the standard waiver list.

EG has every reason to resign him is the point. The ball is in Jae's court and I'm pretty sure he's happy with the current situation.

it's not the first time, soO beat Soulkey the same way too. It appears that banelings counter the low-hp light hydras and hydras are too slow to split...

Yeah probably
I guess, if you scout banes, you should just wait a bit and get infestors before comitting into an attack !
Strong zealot pressure from Paralize while effort was droning hard Destroying effort 3rd Päralize takes a third Effort all-ins with hydra / queen / roach / nydus And get destroyed ^^
