Clarity Gaming would like to formally announce the promotion of five of our academy players, and the unfortunate loss of one player from our A-team. We would like to preface this announcement by saying the first group of Clarity Academy members far surpassed initial expectations, and all five players have grown into absolutely remarkable players since their acquisition in May of this year. Each has done something to make a name for themselves in the recent tournament scene, and we have great aspirations for all of them in the near future. Without further ado, we introduce the next five A-team members for Clarity Gaming.
Promotions
Probably the most featured Clarity member in recent history has been Jonathan Jablonowski, or more commonly known as EliGe. His monumental run through the final WCS America Challenger qualifier saw him fall as the last American standing. Ripping through players like Junbo, Azubu’s.Top, and unfortunately fellow American teammate Shew (who quite notably knocked out KT.Hitman), he tragically fell one map short of qualifying for Challenger at the hands of Select. At 15 years of age, EliGe’s career is sure to be a prosperous one if he can continue to grow after already such impressive results. After spending some weeks in the Clarity House, his play is rapidly evolving, and we gladly welcome Jonathan to the A-team.
Another young-gun Terran joining the pro squad is Austin Badcop Worthington, who is also currently residing in the Clarity Training Facility. Once Grandmaster on the NA and EU server, Badcop is set on improving and finding his breakout tournament, much like that of his teammate and good friend EliGe. With his newfound spot on the A-team, we are confident Badcop will continue to rise to the top of the NA scene and beyond.
The third promotion was earned by popular streamer and high NA Grandmaster Bailey Thomas, or Bails. A season one WCS America Challenger who was barely edged out by ROOT.Vibe and Major, Bailey continues to grow on this success, while consistently streaming his ladder practice. Taking out names like Complexity’s FireZerg in this season’s Challenger qualifiers, Bails is someone we feel has deserved this promotion through persistent practice and solid tournament showings.
Once a player from team LighT, Elaya Saikou Sison has officially been called up to join the top CG squad. Known as a local powerhouse in his home province of British Columbia, Saikou consistently puts up excellent results at LAN tournaments in the Vancouver scene. Case in point, Saikou recently took the gold at LANcouver, beating players such as Col.Poo and FireZerg, while taking home a new Asus laptop in the process. He’s also shown good progress in the WCS scene as well, finishing in the top 16 of Qualifier 2. While we knew Saikou’s time on the academy would be short, we want to welcome him to the A-team with high hopes.
The final player to earn a promotion is one who earned a spotlight rather quickly after joining Clarity Academy, Jace “Mystery” Travis earned his fame by matching EG.Jaedong in the first round of the WCS Season 1 Premier League qualifier, and nearly taking the series 2-1. Since then, Mystery has been continuing to improve at a very good pace, all while streaming and competing in tournaments. High placings in local tournaments will set a good solid foundation for this 16 year old Zerg to grow substantially under the Clarity flag.
Filling the Academy Spots
The other important announcement also comes from the fact that essentially a completely new set of players will be inducted into the Clarity Academy through both qualification and previous merits in the Clarity Community system. One spot has been filled effective immediately by strong Grandmaster Terran player Mark “ElhayM” Leonardo. ElhayM has had strong success in the Community tournaments and we look forward to seeing him flourish in external events.
Clarity and Engyn Part Ways
We must also announce that Clarity has officially let go of Brian Engyn Nguyen. While showing a lot of talent and potential in the infancy of Clarity’s existence, Engyn has since needed to focus on alternative commitments. We wish Brian the best of luck with his studies and future, and the time actively spent on Clarity will not be forgotten.
EDIT: Correction made by a writer mistake - Badcop is/has been GM on both NA and EU, however is Masters on the KR server
