In fact, considering the fact that Genius asked specifically to join Liquid and Supernova was staying with Jinro and Huk, I'm surprised we didn't see any of them join Liquid. This so much. I never understood why Liquid didn't pick up SuperNova. He was living with HerO, Jinro, HuK, HayprO and TLO. He had so much potential. And instead he joined mTw. Sigh.

Hrm, guess Azubu was as sketchy as everyone is saying.

i don't see how you could think that they were legitmate, the company was traced back to two financial criminals, they didn't have an office where they said they did, shit like the players not being notified of major changes to the organization until they read it on websites like TL...

Looks like the streaming service will still be supported by "Azubu Germany". I tweeted CLG's manager to see if they are going to switch to twitch with Azubu shutting down and he said that they aren't shutting down

Like, seriously Azubu, what the fuck? You just dropped a crapload of people cause you felt like it, without even consulting them so that they could have time to transition. I understand businesses aim to make money first, but sometimes the way businesses go around screwing people on a moment's notice is so bad. It's like when IPL was cancelled out of nowhere cause someone bought them out and found out it wasn't profitable to hold the tournament.

There is no Azubu beyond Azubu Korea...

That's what EG does though, but usually they swoop in when a player peaks and we all know how that turns out. In either case, there are a lot of good Koreans for the taking now so it just makes sense to pick up a select few. Examples of that recently? Suppy was playing worse off EG then on EG. Xenocider I don't know much about, although I wouldn't consider him at his peak or really, really good. aLive and Oz were pickups that occurred far after their "peak" and were picked up for Proleague. Revival? I wouldn't really say at his peak and he has only been playing better since being under coach Park. Jaedong? Jaedong was not showing much/any promise in SC2 when EG picked him up, although in EG's Korean team house and under coach Park Jaedong has greatly, greatly improved. OT: This is pretty shitty news, although I'm glad it has stopped now as opposed to chancing the players losing more money. Obviously I'm talking about the old credo. aLive and Oz were sent to purgatory and if you think they peaked prior to that I think you have another thing coming. More like unfulfilled potential especially considering they aren't new to Western teams, so there are a lot of question marks still there. Jaedong would have improved by himself with or without someone looking over his shoulder. Sorry that's the type of player he is. He used to work just as hard as Flash. Ask anyone in the scene back then and they'll tell you Flash and Jaedong were the two hardest working players in BW. You wouldn't call aLive's peak so far his win at IPL4? Oz, maybe not, although he and aLive were picked up as a result of Fnatic ending all things to do with Korea, not because they were at their peak and because EG wanted to snipe some of them. Furthermore your admittance that both of them haven't peaked refutes your earlier point that EG just picks up players at their peak and then causes them or correlates with them becoming worse. You're contradicting yourself. Well yeah he would have improved by continuing to play, although once again EG did not at all pick him up at the peak of his SC2 play and comparing him to Flash at the time, Flash was playing much, much better. I have just been reading Maddelisk's blog about Absolute Legends, and I know Dimaga got screwed by his old team too. Considering all the players who are not getting paid as promised it is amazing that EG gets such a hard time here on TL. Last I heard EG pay their players well and on time. That seems pretty basic but unfortunately that seems something that some teams don't manage to accomplish.
Very sad to hear about SC2 Pros getting ripped off by their employers. It happens way too often too. It just seems that a majority or a very vocal minority of SC2 fans despise success. The vast majority of the /r/Starcrat community jumped on the chance to donate to Root so that they could open a team house, although everyone hates EG for owning a team house in Arizona and in Korea. It's rather appalling that people give shit to EG when they are one of the few Western organizations that hasn't folded, but flourished as of recent. This guy... You think people give EG shit because they have team houses or because they are rich? Its more about their view on the whole esports scene, the people associated with EG and buying popular/successful players. I also find their extremly aggressive marketing absolutely disgusting. Jaedong walking out with a monster bottle in his hand. Fuck off with that shit.

I agree with you that it won't last much longer but he might know some things that we don't. The streaming service is ran by "AzubuNorth America" according to the Azubu.tv page and Kelby has friends who work there

If they were in that much debt I feel like the gaming team would be the first thing to go... I was always under the impression that the big korean powerhouses are somewhat autonomous from the actual companies that have their name on the jersey. I'm sure there's some money involved somewhere, but at some point it becomes self-sustaining...right?
