I must say that this fills a much needed hole that us Terran stream fans were feeling. This man is ungodly in his talent, and I am happy to see him playing. A cut above.

SeleCT was fine in the beginning when he switched over to DotA 2. He used to be a DotA player along with WC3 and Dawn of War. SeleCT didn't look like he was having fun when he was streaming near the end of his DotA 2 career.

i dont even play terran but ive been watching his stream the last few days because he is a likable and amusing guy. team liquid should pick him up for sure.

he made me lol last night when he was playing a protoss who used the recall ability, select flipped out haha cuz he had never seen it before.

Loved the 1st few days when he ddnt no the builds units nd maps.Was amazed how his micro and decision making got him so far. Great to see him playing again and having fun.

The best part of 1v1 game is that you can show your skills better and not be blamed by everything from keyboard warriors on the internet as much. See, these types of comments is what I don't get and is what is not giving me a good impression of the MOBA community. SC2 may have its haters but outside a few exceptions (and some situations, like foreigners getting seeds into GSL), the SC2 community treats its players well. Even players that gained a bit of infamy (like the Terran Rain) all were respected, especially when they left the scene (I remember reading the Rain retiring thread and nearly every single comment gave him respect and wished him fair well with almost no one hating on him).

Yes, he played WC3 DotA before SC2 (when he retired from SC2, he also mentioned that he played Dota before SC2, and just wanted to return to the scene). He did decently in Dota before, so it's not like he wasn't used to it before.

I say it's not the case of mindset for MOBAs but the fact that being good at 1v1 games is more rewarding than being good at team games.

No matter how good you are, you are still limited because it's a team game (team coordination impacts the game way more than what individual skill can make up for in most cases).

And again, if you are a decent player in a game (enough to make it far in tournaments consistently) than you might as well stay playing the same game unless you don't enjoy it as much as another. Coca and Puzzle and sC all returned to SC2 (despite the huge break) as good players still (Coca and Puzzle owning the group stages and making it to the play offs at Dreamhack, despite only returning to HotS for like a month or 2) and sC owning it up in the GSTL a decent amount of times. Seems like Select is doing just as well too making it to

To be fair, your statement DID make you sound really arrogant and condescending. SeleCT is a great player. No reason to rub his nose in the fact that his DotA 2 career never took off. And I don't understand why you disregard the team play vs individual skill argument. It's perfectly valid, even if you don't believe it applies to SeleCT specifically. (I speak as a LoL/DotA/Sc2 player)

I also speak as a Moba/SC2 player. That doesn't say a whole lot man. The truth of the matter is as much as we like the guy (because I do like the guy- proud supporter since his Dignitas days and showed plenty of support) he was easy to write off in Dota2. I saw him play countless times and he really did have a weak pool to chose from. I don't like stupid generalizations or oversimplifying matters but there is a lot missing when you guys try to sell that can of worms time and time again. I've picked it apart on more than one occasion and I don't intend on doing it again. There's a big gap & it's not going to get any easier.

It's not select's fault he didn't succeed in dota. Hard to find a good team that fits. Singsing was the downfall of that team. Just doesn't seem like a good team player that dude.

After fail in TI3 qualifiers Selects leaving qpads was just matter of time. He played badly (because he almost instantly was picked in pro team, with only a month-two of practice). And i think he switched to dota2 because : 1) he saw TI2 "wow easy money", 2) his sc2 was "not in best condition", and i think in isn't last of his transfers (LoL next maybe).
