WCS Europe: Mill.Feast tops stacked group, Acer.MMA comes in second.
Detailed results from Live Report Thread by Wintex. + Show Spoiler [Results] +
There was no doubting that Group X was one of the most difficult Ro32 groups heading into the tournament. To the surprise of many it was the Belgian Feast who took the first place spot in the group, trumping the initial favorite to finish first in multiple champion MMA. Feast used early game attacks to topple MMA in his initial match, and went on outduel mouz.MaNa in PvP to cinch the top spot.
While MMA took a surprise loss in his first match, he lived up to his reputation as a world beater to secure advancement to the Ro16. After showing off his considerable TvZ prowess against WW.SortOf in the losers match, MMA defeated the polish powerhouse MaNa to earn his place in the next round.
WCS America: AX.CranK and Gammania.Sen take final two Ro16 spots, EG.HuK.RC and Isurus.Capoch to Challenger League.

The hopes of having another player from the Americas enter the Ro16 were squashed, as Korea's Crank and Taiwan's Sen combined to take the last two spots for WCS America. Argentina's Capoch was no match for the rest of the competition, and while Canada's HuK put up a good fight, he couldn't make it through in the final set.
Crank was the first one through the group, taking out HuK in his first series and then winning a narrow victory against Sen in the winners match. The final spot in the group came down to a duel between HuK and Sen, and it went down to a nail-biting third set. In the end Sen's queen-backed ultralisks were too much for HuK to handle, and the Taiwanese champ won his Ro16 spot.

Ugh, I thought the "hide spoilers" feature was supposed to stop me from seeing things like this. Literally spoiled it while watching.

was really worried for Sen. but so glad to see him make it. he doesn't seem to like transitioning from roach hydra to swarm host. Cost him that first game vs Crank.

I don't think that Feast coming through the group was a big surprise, he has been a real beast for some time especially in PvP. Sad that MaNa didn't make it too, It would have been great to see him go further.
|
Might have been a different story if MMA hadn't gone CC first in game 3 vs Feast (I still have no idea why he did that) but glad to see him bring the pain in his next two sets.
|
Oh ya Sen! Always flying under the radar, but constantly doing well in the tournaments.
|
I know he didn't get the easiest of groups but Capoch wasn't ready for that premier league invite.
|
Glad to see Sen and MMA, two of my favorite players, make it.
So hard to judge exactly how good either of them is these days. :x
|
Really happy to see MMA and Crank making it through

Typically yes, but I guess there was a few minutes when it was first posted when it was visable. Kind of crappy, bad timing I guess.

can't wait to see Group X !

I think iNcontroL described MMA's victory well on SotG, where he basically got pissed after losing to Feast and then went beast mode on Mana. I really wish HuK got to ro16 :3
|
MMA beast mode is always the best. I remember two NASL games that he almost lost to qxc. Suddenly, when he was 40 supply behind, MMA just decides to win, and starts dropping everywhere and just obliterating qxc.

i want nothing more in sc2 than for mma and mvp to do well, such great players

Why are you on a news site that specializes in SC2 if you don't want to be spoiled about a SC2 tournament?
|
|
What a surprise that HuK drops down. Oh wait - no.
|
Feast really impressed in his group, wow. And unlucky HuK, tough to have Crank and Sen to beat to advance. I think you shouldn't be too hard on yourself though.

Every time it suprises me that people come to the TL sc2 section and don't expect to be spoilered o.0

My life to MMA, he is a damn great player, his style is SO beautiful to watch, he plays Terran the good way, the multitask way

I can't wait for the EU ro16 matchups, US.... not so excited about other than seeing Nestea win.
|
I'm so looking forward to see the next Premier level. It has been a great show so far (in general). But first there are two more EU Challenger qualifiers to follow this weekend. Two Empire boys, Welmu and a bunch of Swedes to cheer for, but sadly there are only 8 spots left and the competition is still very strong. Kind of impressing how deep it goes when you think about it.

Goddammit. Get it together, kollin.

Glad to see MMA back. his TvZ really delivered. Hopefully he gets his early game TvP fixed
|
didn't see this live and went to esl website to view the vods, but the sound doesn't seem to work however, GOOO Feast!
|
This headline is misleading, it should be: Feast and MMA, Crank and Sen final players to reach Ro16
|
Really happy with these results. Love to see Sen doing well and I can't help but cheer for the Axiom boys.

Mana got so mad, it was pretty funny to see MMA apologizing for outplaying him.
