The following matches will be broadcast live from the GOMTV studio on Wednesday May 8:

13:10 KST: (P)First vs (Z)hyvaa
14:00: (P)Trap vs (Z)Curious
15:00: (P)YongHwa vs (P)Rain
16:00: (P)ParalyzE vs (Z)YugiOh

18:10: (P)Swagger vs (Z)Leenock
19:00: (T)FanTaSy vs (P)Avenge
20:00: (T)SuperNova vs (Z)DongRaeGu
21:00: (T)MarineKing vs (P)JangBi

The other eight matches will not be broadcast live.

Players whose matches will not be streamed include Creator, EffOrt, Hurricane, Squirtle, KeeN, ByuN, and RagnaroK.

Squirtle vs Ruin, despite not being broadcast, is a match for Code S due to TaeJa's participation in WCS NA.

Really good matches but still I'm greedy and would've liked to have seen all the matches streamed Get to see more of Leenock's ultra play, and maybe Swagger has a solution to it.
I'm bad, really bad but I'll blame it on my internet.

Pretty much how I feel as well, although I don't think it's greed since it's just wanting what we used to get.

Aw, i wanted to see if Ragnarok GSTL performance was a fluke or if he indeed is a new great zerg for IM.
Hope they find a way to show the other matches somehow.

Seriously, Leenock vs Swagger? They choose a blowout over

Maru vs Bbyong, Squirtle vs Ruin (teamkill for code S since Taeja is out) or Ragnarok vs Bunny

blah

Why the hell did we pay 110$ for a year of GSL Code A and Code S games if half of Code A is not even casted it's unacceptable, release the replays if you're not going back on your decision.....

Not showing Byun games when he has been streaming so much with decent viewership, so silly GOM.

I really don't get why they don't just stream on Mondays for 2-3 weeks and not miss any games as they never broadcast then anyways.

On another note, everyone who is 9/10 on that Nestea award is being broadcasted :o

Leenock and DRG should make it back to code S. MKP may as well start training for the up/down as there's no way he's getting past Life.

With how he's been playing Jangbi might even send him packing

Next year might be too late, we get two more seasons in each region with this mess. A year is a really long time and if enough damage is taken from this sillyness SC2 might not recover.

GOM is doing Sudden Attack (I think) and World of Tanks now. More e-sports means less time for SC2. Especially since SC2 already has Code S + GSTL.

That might be so but it's still not acceptable to basically rip-off those that bought a year pass for Code S+A. Also you can't really reduce one sport just because you start with a new one, imagine if that would happen to any traditional sport.

It's cool guys Tastosis will be commenting a WoT match where everyone sits behind rocks for ten minutes.

Who'd want to watch Squirtle, EffOrt, Byun, or Creator when we have such incredibly exciting rock-hiding action?!

We never get to know how supporting shitty e-sports games help SC2 but it must do since people say so!

I think Gom will be streaming challenger league next season too. There's no space in OGN's schedule for something as time consuming as Code A.

they have one sponsor mangosix, and blizzard is giving them a lot of money.

now, there is no way of broadcast all the code A yet?

No but it's probably either due to the WCS schedule being sprung on them, or because they're going into other games so they have less time. WCS cuts into their SC2 business model since most things are free now, so they need to get into other games since SC2 isn't successful enough in Korea to sustain itself with less subscriptions from foreign fans.

They've always had other games and there was a time BW was prime time material but even if SC2 didn't pop up League still would have taken over the OGN networks as it is right now.

Haven't Blizzard always been funnelling money to GSL though? I doubt much has changed in terms of how much they're being compensated except that GOM get 2 less seasons of money since they're splitting with OGN.

As a protoss player I'm really irked about this because almost all of the Protoss players that I love to watch all advanced and I can't see any of their games...

I mean under normal circumstances this would be considered whining but considering I paid a $20 fee for the ticket to access the VODS (Which is all the tickets good for now) I feel pretty shafted that I don't even get that now when I can pay much less for other tickets that can at least deliver the bloody VODS without servicing me multiple ads when I'm simply trying to watch one BO3 (Yeah we have to deal with ads unless you use adblock after paying for a ticket?)

I hate when people say this but I'm going to say it, GOM I won't be buying a ticket for next season as theres no reason to anymore considering all of Europe can watch your content in HD for free and live, Not willing to fork out money to you guys if you can't even deliver on VODs, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere even if $20 isn't a whole lot

As much as I dislike the fact that they decided to not cast some games, I really like their choice.
Basically : "we don't cast mirror match-up".
The only non-mirror matchup not cast is ragnarok vs bunny, which is arguably not that sexy.
But I agree with many people, I would like to be able to know what happend in those games. If you can't cast it with the caster or put the replay, can you at least ask to legend to obseve it and release a soundless VoD ?

What don't you get? They don't have time to cast them all with the WCS schedule.
edit - Live anyway, I'm sure they could make an arrangement to have it done out of the event if they wanted.

I second this. GSL is usually one of the most professional organizations in the scene, and they hold themselves to a very very high standard (production guy made an apology thread because a score that was shown during a broadcast was wrong). I hope that they can make it happen.

I was JUST going to buy a year long subscription too... I think they need to think about their business model more. They have a lot of good content and don't know how to take advantage of it. I don't think simply "not broadcasting" is the the solution. They need a good digital marketing guy and sponsorship strategy.

Not for free since this is what -I think- we are paying for. God damn it GOM, I was with you through all the shit, the free GOM HD stream, the rushed 5 seasons last year, the lagging new stream short on resources after the abandonement of the need for GOM Player and spent a good chunk of money for your service -- this is the first time I can't even find a reasonable argument why a VOD or replay put up afterwards would be a problem of any sorts.

I hoped WCS Korea would've set the standard for the rest of the tournaments. Next season Blizzard needs to set a requirement for all Challenger League matches being casted.

A lot of complaining here, and I can understand most of it. However, as someone who has bought every single season of GSL including GSTL, I'm not unhappy about these problems yet.

Blizz recently dropped a big bombshell on all of these tournament organizers to shoe-horn them into their new WCS system. I can have patience for them if there are some growing pains as they work out the details. I expect future seasons to run smoother. But then I'm an optimist...

I'm really liking being able to watch WCS from all 3 regions all week. The only thing that gives me some concern is the whole region-free restrictions where players can play in any region regardless of nationality.

WCS changed a lot for MLG, and IEM. I can give them a pass. However besides for prize money, how did WCS really screw up the structure of GSL? It didn't, The entire WCS system was derived from the system GSL developed.

I really don't see how WCS is to blame for them choosing not to cast Code A. Maybe someone can explain it to me. Code A should have all games cast, just as it was last year and the year before.

Btw, i couldn't care less about the EU or AM leagues. I would sacrifice both in an instant to have the all of the code A games cast.

for example that OGN is now also in on broadcasting the Korean WCS, and that they have to schedule with the other WCS regions. Tons of changes for Gom as well.
I am not really optimistic, but it is to be expected that the next seasons will run smoother. The question is if they can reach/surpass GSL level with this kind of setup. But that is subjective experience anyhow.
