This is pretty disgusting. Straight up stole SoTG and I'm not even a huge fan of JP. The sad part is people will defend Artosis like their lives depended on it while if some unknown person ripped off the same idea they'd be skewered to death. Sad state of affairs. They stole ITG... there are only so many formats to take. Honestly, SoTG started strong and has kinda disintegrated over time. Maybe Meta will supplant it. I agree that Pulse is probably the best serious podcast. And Honestly SOTG doesn't need to fill that roll. Maybe I would listen to ITG but it's not uploaded regularaly so meh.
Not so sure about their relation to ITG, but what Artosis is doing is he is taking all the work JP has built on and he's trying to steal an entire viewerbase. That is clearly not OK, and I definitely won't be watching this. Also the name is painfully stupid. If there was a contest for the worst possible name for a SC2 related show 'Meta' would win by a mile, followed by "Unbalanced".

I'm pretty sure JP was cool with it, if it was only Artosis not participating and starting his own thing with his own people. I highly doubt that when he made his update on youtube about Artosis not being on SoTG for the "foreseeable future" he expected to not have ANY of his other hosts/guests also. Of course JP is probably not going to say anything(even though he should clear things up and what occurred) because he has less clout in the SC2 arena than Artosis so it would be losing battle either way.
We'll see when SoTG rolls around how that manages to work out.

ITG came after. State of the Game is the original.

Meta isn't bad, though. Enjoying it the same as an average SotG.
I agree, I have enjoyed The Pulse more than the other shows.

This is really awesome, good work :D

I hardly ever watch the pulse, inside the game I will tune into from time to time, but I actually prefer live on 3 over inside the game(hate the caller portion). I have to admit I am actually kinda proud of people who will not watch the show because they support JP. I personally am really impressed with the show. But I was really impressed with SOTG of late. I hope there is a place for both shows. I think best thing to do is support your favorite shows and let them work hard to earn your eyes.

It's just too similar to SOTG. It's the exact same thing lmao.
|
It's a nice show, I just wish they would explain wtf they are talking about in regards to games. When they mentioned Leenock's "sick play" they just talk about how awesome it was without saying what exactly he did.
I feel like I have to watch every game to understand what they are talking about.
EDIT: Catz seems to be the only one explaining what the players did.

I can't bring myself to support this show by watching it. I'd love to be wrong about what's happened, and I'll wait for whatever information percolates before settling the matter entirely in my mind, but all signs indicate that one of the biggest contributors to the SC2 community has been gutted by Artosis and EMG.
If this situation is as it seems to be, a a terrible precedent has been set for anyone who is or is thinking about contributing to the SC2 community, especially to the point of making it a livelihood. What bothers me the most at the moment is that there's no transparency. For whatever reason, they're all behaving as if nothing has happened. I feel bad for JP because he makes a living by streaming and doing shows and this was his biggest one.

The transition they're using between shots is really obnoxious.
|
The Pulse is way too casual. You don't learn high-end stuffs. SOTG with Artosis and Catz can actually teach you a lot of things about SC2. So does the Meta.
|
JP can still do SOTG. He just needs to find some new people. But isn't that the nature of this type of talk shows? Hosting by one or two people while finding new guests each show?
|
@MOONGLADEAU is not in line with the background. Sometimes the transitions into focus on one person seems to much.
Overall ok show with a nice layout and great personalities. The same as SOTG. I don't know which I will follow, maybe both. Always like to hear Artosis' perspective.
|
Hoping that JP or some one releases a statement but right now this comes off as fairly underhanded. Even if I feel the show could be stronger with artosis hosting just stealing the viewer base and exact premise of something JP worked hard on developing seems really low.
|
Same exact cast as SOTG minus JP is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. As much as I like the idea of having another Starcraft show to watch, this just doesn't feel right.
