I overall think this is a good tournament.
My take is that Europe has always been kind of this isolated place which is why IMHO Europeans are better than NA players they don't get invaded as hardcore as NA does by Korean players. I have this feeling like NA will be really beaten up by Korean that this EU WCS is the calm before the storm.
The only complaint I can muster is its been kinda boring seeing the same low level players over and over, but besides all that its really cool that relative unknowns can get 20k worldwide viewers and we can all get together to congratulate Bunny, Feast on their victories and they get their day in the sun.

Congratz to bunny and feast. I watched the whole tournament. The qualifiers were very grueling. Well deserved

Bunny:
"Patrick has a long record of 1st places at offline events such as NetPartyFyn #12 and #13, The BLAST and he also won the Danish Gamer Championship 2012. The big turning point was World Championship Series 2012 where he got a 3rd place. Patrick later won the Danish qualifier for IeSF 2012 World Championship where he went to compete in Korea representing Denmark. With a top 16 finish, he returned to Denmark to win NetPartyFyn LAN #13. 2013 has already brought Patrick a 2nd place at HKLAN 2013 and a 1st place in Danish Metal Invitational 2013."

|
Grats to Feast and Bunny (even though the beat Welmu)!
|
Gratz to Feast and Bunny. some weeks ago TLO mentioned that bunny is top3 european terran. Looking forwards to see both playing in Premier Division
Seems like number1 seed always qualifies
|
3 Terran 1 Protoss so far, we will actually see TvT in WCS :3
|
I would love to see all the spots taken up by Europeans.I bet after allowing koreans to play in EU qualifiers, winning the qualifier must be so much sweeter for the European players!
So far so good!

Protoss (10) Terran (9) Zerg (9). Isnt that good enough?

I don't think anyone quite realizes how much of an achievement this is for a South African. Not saying Pandatank hasn't done well in the past, but afaik, this is one of his best showings. The ping in South Africa is between 190-240 to the EU server, and he made GM while here, and was good enuf to get a sponsor while down here. He's now coming top 4 in a WCS qualifier, probably one of the more stacked events out there.
Just want to say congratz to Pandatank and well done on an excellent result. I hope you can qualify in some of the others
+ Show Spoiler + Pretty sure he isn't in SA anymore tho
+ Show Spoiler + I would be saying this on bnet to you as always, but you've blocked non-friends :/
|
Yes, I'd like Pandatank to qualify. Would be nice to see a South African in the WCS EU and he has proven he has the ability to get there, but will need some luck in the next two qualifiers.
From last night, the two qualifiers once again are fully deserved. Feast has always shown flashes of potential and appears to be doing well lately, and Bunny is showing some real talent, good to see new players come through + Show Spoiler + ExpansionTerran? . Well done Feast and Bunny
|
Never heard of Bunny, but seems like he has a lot of potential.
|
It's awesome that Bunny finally comes out of the clos- errrrrr makes a breakthrough in the international scene. It must be pretty awkward for Copenhagen Wolves, that one of their 'Academy' players made it to Premier, and the full professionals of much bigger organisations didn't even come close lol.
Well done to Feast, he completely deserved it.
Hoping for Beastqt and Welmu next!
PS: Correct me if I'm wrong, but afaik PandaTank wasn't playing from South Africa. He was living in the Razer house in California, but I think he had moved to the UK...I might be under the wrong impression though,

3/4 terrans? Good, hopefully some of the terrans whining about toss will shut the hell up now.

Huge qualifications along with invites of the most prestigious players of the region is the best of two worlds.
Btw, how was lag for Koreans, I thought it was pretty bad KR->EU?
|
well he killed 20 workers with his first tiny pokes at 6 then 8 minutes, which was with a very small force of 1 mine 6 marines... then 2 hellbats.. what the fuck was finale doing?! he even left his probes in the firing line against the first marines and let them get butchered. maybe he was really tired?
undeniably bunny did well with his harass early game but some questionable play by finale.

|
Day 2, still no korean, still no zerg...
Zerg up, kr up
Congratz feast and bunny ^^
