He'll make it this time guys
He'll make it....
i sincerely hope so, but if bisu fails again it'll be comic rather than tragic

The rest can fight it out earnestly. Also: Isn't there a list of Code B people somewhere on liquipedia. I remember someone posting one last time we had qualifiers.

Here's a list of some players that tried to but failed to qualify in last season's Code B: MMA, Supernova, Sting, Puma, TheStC, jjakji, Alicia, Hwangsin, JYP, Crank, Golden, Heart, Choya, Oz, Miya, Inca, Top, Vines, Dark, Stardust, Lucky, San, Tails, Brown, Suhosin, asd, Whale, Serius, Stats, free, ZerO, Hydra, Argo, Cure, Dear, Action, herO, Jangbi, Bisu, Stork, Best, Zest, Thorzain, Major, Artosis.
And here are the 24 players who were knocked out in the round of 48 last season and will have to requalify: Mvp, Jaedong, Genius, finale, YugiOh, TY, Reality, HuK, Tear, First, Sola, Dream, Happy, Revival, Seed, Byul, Vampire, Arthur, s2, Hack, Trap, Zenio, Shine, HS.
All these players are currently not in the GSL. There are only 23 spots up for grabs, who are you cheering for?

Jaedong has really been impressing me on his stream lately, I'd be very surprised if he didn't make it through. Of course, the qualifiers are going to be stacked...
Since the account with Masters 2000 doesn't need to be Korean, that means anyone from EU/US could take part. Will be interesting to see if any foreigners decide to try it, and what the rulings are about them having to be in Korea

What do you mean "rulings"? The event is taking place in Korea, unless you have a clone that you can send, you have to be in Korea to participate.

It depends on the spacing of the GSL seasons since there are 4 this year. The last ones were in January so it's possible that they could be played about every 3 months so there might be one in the beginning of July. It just depends on how Gom spaces everything out

Every few months. I don't know how many seasons there will be this year, but there should be at least another season and the qualifiers during the time you are in Korea

None of them are blizzard maps, I'm assuming it's saying that they're using the ladder versions of each map.
So far they always announced the author of the map, how it would be on the battlenet, not the original creator. That way people don't end up training on a map were something was changed. I have already seen a tournament with cast from replay, where the two players ended up on a map with increased barracks build time and they didn't notice until far in the game. So it is quiet important to state the one that uploaded the version to the battle net.

If ThorZaIN, DeMusliM, SaSe or NaNiwa are around they'll probably try too, but I don't think they'll be in Korea.
MAYBE SLoG, but I think he might have retired. LastShadow is back to playing a bit of SC2, but I highly doubt he'll try to qualify.
That would be awesome both for GSL (and foreigner/korean fans) if all mentioned would give it a shot (and even better if some of them qualified + Show Spoiler +

Yup, it's right there in black and white, anyone can participate (and the brackets are never close to full)... I always wonder why more randoms and fans don't sign up, you might be able to play a Korean pro in a tournament, how many people can say that? Especially because there are so few open brackets left, and I'm pretty sure these qualifiers are free...

To be honest I imagine all 576 slots get filled by ESF/Kespa + other random masters players.

Haha while a gold player could even if they cheesed they'd still get 2-0'd easy

Pretty sure any gold could play. These things never fill up and there are always tons of byes in the early rounds.

Not even close. Usually they're not even half full. There are only 14 teams in both orgs combined, and not that many randoms sign up, so...

the fuck
Kinda what I was curious about lol.
Whatever JAEDONG BETTER QUALIFY AGAIN!
I have these maps vetoed because they bore me to death T_T
Yes, but these aren't tournament games -- they're qualifiers. GomTV will choose the most balanced, boring maps they can possibly find because choosing ridiculous maps (that potentially aren't very well balance-tested) for entertainment value could ruin the validity of the rest of their tournament.

That's exciting! Hopefully we are able to see some notable players. I assume it'll probably be like it was the times wolf streamed it where they just have to find people willing to be streamed probably will see Scarlett and some of the foreigners play

SortOf, Sting and Arthur will attempt to qualify, with Daisy going for morale support (due to just having had major eye surgery and being on a 2 week break from SC2 as a result)
