Why do you guys care so much about who is the best foreigner? I dont get it... As long as foreigners are way worse than the Koreans, i dont care who is the best of these 2nd class players. dont get me wrong, i am a real nani fan since his beginnings in warcraft 3.

just because your team is on 2nd division you will not care about who is leading the tournament?

delusional fanboys are annoying. Nani is a good player, he was one of the players who could give koreans a run for their money. and that's it. there were others like this too, and stephano was a tier above.

For the same reason people watch March Madness and college football. They like the teams and players. Being a fan had very little to do with who the best players in the world are.

I think you are forgetting how Naniwa and Stephano are the handful of foreigners who consistently have beaten Code S Koreans before.

Note: HuK is 2011, so he doesn't count anymore.

Shut it with your logic and valid reasoning!!!!! You should only care about the best player in the world. At that moment. Only them, until the next one. All other players are ants, crawl at your feet, begging for your attention.

After winning the Swedish esport cup today (not the one OP talks about) he said he will be going to Korea in 2 days. Hopefully an announcement is close!

Looks like NaNi can't be touched by a Swede. What about Koreans, then?

if naniwa's 23-34 record in korea counts as "consistent" (in which he only beat protosses and lower tier korean terrans), and his 3-4 wins vs koreans outside of korea, then we might as well count huk too...

or Kas, who has a winning record vs Polt, Parting, Seed, Squirtle, Nestea, MKP
or Nerchio, who beat Forgg, Hero, Hyun (many times), raped MC 2 times in a row when MC was the undisputed no1 pvz, also beat Polt a few times,
or Mana, who has the same winrate in kr as naniwa, he also beat Hyun/Sting/Ganzi/MC/Alive/etc
etc etc.

For all of his drama queen syndrome he is actually a better player than stephano in terms of achievements. I believe that he can make it in Korea as he has been there, done that, and actually seems to show drive to compete.

I'm more a Nani fan tbh, I do feel Stephano has better achievements, but I partly believe that is because Naniwa didn't really go around sweeping up foreign tournaments when he had the chance. His Providence run is the equal of pretty much anything Stephano has done in terms of the impact, that and Stephano's rise were the only two times where I didn't just go in hoping the foreigners did well, but really believed that they would do so.

Going forward, Nani's willingness to put in the hours will see him rewarded at some stage, the guy has far too few medals for the quality of play he has consistently shown.

nani didn't go "sweep up" foreign tournaments because he lost in the first round to dimaga or to bly.

where as stephano won like 10 tournaments, many of them with koreans like bomber/mc/mkp/polt so you can't even say it were not the best koreans.

all that naniwa won is 1 mlg ages ago, and he beat some koreans here and there and people come with the "he is better than stephano" bullshit lol when in truth stephano has more prize money, more wins, more wins vs koreans, more EVERYTHING, and not just slightly.

his fans say "godslayer" when he cheesed flash out and then proceeded to get his ass kicked really bad in the extended series, i remember he even used shady tricks to beat nestea, quitting a match and pretending he didn't know it was cross only on metalopolis because he wanted his cannon cheese to work. also he got the luckiest brackets in gsl ever. none of these achievements are special.

even huk/mana had better accomplishments, he is not even the best protoss.

ps: even stephano's korean record is better than naniwa's. please guys get real.

You describe my thoughts perfectly. NaNi's overrated, both positively and negatively, and yeah, he can be the best in Sweden, but that doesn't make him a code S player or anything. On the Nani vs Stephano thing, it's stupid, but even if it wasn't: Stephano's been top for quite a while longer, while also achieving more. I to be honest respect the ''no preparation, I'll just play and improvise'' way more than the giant studies some people (and I suppose NaNi too) do on other players.

Isnt HuK still in code s?

How is he not relevant anymore if he plays in the greatest league of them all?
I know he wont win code s but still. hes right there with the big dawgz. good enough for me to call him ''relevant''

but yeah I wish nani got on a good team and that we see him more. the guy took some games from God at MLG. Means hes pretty good. His lack of social skills just make him funnier imo :D ( like funnier than Idra who thinks hes a bawss but isnt at all )

Huk is neither in Code S nor Code A at the moment. matter of fact, there is not a single foreigner in all of the GSL right now. the only way this could change this season is if someone makes the Code A qualifiers.

HuK is not in Code S anymore, he lost to Shine in the Ro48 of last season's Code A.

just because your team is on 2nd division you will not care about who is leading the tournament?

Wow this thread really spiraled and it looks like we're getting the same old arguments. Let's look at Clan Wars in WGTour shall we? No one really cared how division 2a/2b and down were doing other than the teams trying to make it to division 1. Sure there was news updates, but everyone in the community had their eyes on division 1. In certain circumstances, yes people only care about the majors because that is what everyone aspires/looks to.
