Thinking as the OP, Blizzard should remove GM league from all regions except Korea, as the only worthy players are playing on Korean ladder.

Dude, really wtf? GM is Top 200 on a server and it should stay that way. Or are you crying that you didn't spent your bonus pool on time?

I fully agree, this is absolutely what is happening - players who aren't particularly good are getting GM, and that really does defeat the point.

"not particularly good" players have been getting GM since it started though. Deezer cheesing his way there, among a slew of others like him. It's still just a novelty for a lot of people.

GM should be taken down depending on the amount of people playing it, however if keeping it active is of no additional cost then keep it up.

OP, I don't think your reasons as quite solid tbh. GM should stay as is since not everyone switched to WoL yet and denying them the possibility of making it to GM even though most of the best players have left for HoTS isn't right. Only once everyone moves to HoTS or there aren't much people playing WoL should Blizzard remove GM so ya, definitely keep it imo.

People who will be playing on WoL at this point are going to be people who either could not afford HotS/didn't care to purchase expansion or people that just genuinely prefer WoL and did not care for the changes. Judging ladder ranks at this point in WoL matters little as the ones playing on it are not going to be the e-peen driven crowd anyways. I think if they removed it no one would care really but do not see it as an issue.

Rename all WoL leagues to varying types of wood.

GM can be Oak league.

GM in WoL stopped meaning something since this season, basically any one who is mid master can get into GM. Even if I got GM this season I want it removed, or differentiate it from HOTS at least...

I think they should put the " Highest career finish" league the one of the game you are currently playing, when you're on ladder and you beat someone who was gm you think nice i'm getting close! but now you need to check if he was a legit gm or just wol..

Even if the game is obsolete to you it might not be for everyone.

Anyways there's no need to go on a rampage and abolish the WoL GM, instead they could just separate the leagues and league achievements of WoL and HotS so that profiles will display such according to which game you are playing at the time. For example you have masters in WoL currently and being highest ever but while playing HotS in gold currently with diamond highest ever you'd have on profile displayed the HotS diamond as highest rank and the gold as current. And when playing WoL the leagues should be represented accordingly.
Same applying to league achievements or they could be marked from which game they were achieved giving people more goals to get them from both games.

newbs still play wol -> GM easy to get -> reduces prestigue and credibility of GM -> remove pls

Last season I played a guy on ladder, then after the game it came up with a GM icon. I clicked to see where he was ranked, and it took me to some weird ladder with people I'd never heard of and only ~120 people on it. Took me a good while to figure out that he was being listed as GM on his HotS account even though he was only GM on WoL.

There definately needs to be a change to make it a little clearer where you are GM. If you're Masters in HotS, it shouldn't be saying you're GM on the score screen after a HotS game.
