Because basically they're almost a fanatical sect with all the irrationality, hypocrisy and bullshit that comes with it. While wanting animals to be fairly treated is good, they just take it to the extreme without any rational thinking. Didn't they bombed/burned some research lab or something (well not directly of course) ? That's just textbook terrorism.

Seriously, PETA has gone around the bend and straight to looney land a long time ago. + Show Spoiler + And they prove it by advocating caring and trying to empathize with the Zerg - a race which is controlled using psionic neural nets with little if any individual identity bent on the genocide of all creatures. There isn't anything to empathize with, because the Zerg (Overmind or Kerrigan) know your mind, and want to eat it. I could draw an analogy to invoke Godwin's law, but why?

My favorite part is this: PETA is a terrible organization. My wife and I are both animal lovers, both vegetarians, she even works at a shelter full time. But PETA doesn't represent people for ethical treatment of animals at all. They believe that certain dog breeds, like Pit Bulls should simply be exterminated (PETA supports mass-euthanasia for certain breeds). That isn't ethical treatment. According to PETA: "Nice" families rarely visit shelters in search of pit bulls, and pit bulls from unknown backgrounds don't always make good family additions. Pit Bulls are better off dead. Guess what? I have a pit bull, we are a nice family, and our pit had made a great family addition. You tell Sargent he doesn't deserve to live anymore because of his breed, because that is what PETA does everyday: http://www.nhspca.org/category-s/910.htm ![]() By the way, Sargent is an awesome dog who deserves a home. If you have a place in your home for him, you should adopt him. I wish I could.

They didn't help the sad zealot at all, and i think thats a far worse crime! Word. That's extra terrestrial xenophobia at its finest - and shows the hyprocrisy of Peta.
