I used to do the presentation of our big projects at Uni, and trust me, I wasn't the brains or the vision behind the project. I could just make it work in a presentation. I would fully understand the material, and could explain it. But working with it wasn't my passion. Maybe it is for David Kim

A lead designer for any game needs communication skills. Awesome communication skills. He needs to be able to get needed input with great questions. I'm not saying David Kim doesn't have them. On camera and off camera with a comfortable team is very different.
