Campaign is so good I didnt even touch multiplayer before I played the campaign through. Best RTS campaign ever easily.
Ho, don't go that far. Warhammer 40k Dawn of War II campaign is still way better. But it's not really the same kind of RTS.
It's so good? I never had that game before, so I've got it recently, but got bored somewhere at the 3rd mission I think. So I guess I should go back and finish it. I don't know, this whole universe of Warhammer seems so weird to me so far.
Warhammer 40k is a really stupid world, yeah (contrary to the fantasy one). I think some of the DoW campaigns were good, but some of them were cookie cutter crap.

thanks.
what the hell is a halustarcraft?
also the best rts campaign is clearly wc3
It's real units of SC2 in a story format, like roleplay? i guess, not sure how to describe it, i pretty much didn't watch xD also can't hear either =P

I would count the campaign of dawn of war 2 as a srpg not a rts. So not everyones cup of coffee

Homeworld beats the crap out of both when it comes to campaign.
Mhhh I did Homeworld, it was pretty great too yeah. But the pacing of missions is a bit less good.
No offense intended, but what did you find that interesting on DOW2 campaign ? You are practically grinding missions and most of them are pretty much the same. I liked the game, but mostly because i am a 40k fan. I guess i score campaigns on how immersive i find them and less about mission gameplay (i know totally subjective). Warcraft 3 was pretty neat at that both too.

Yeah, it's a lot closer to a rpg than a RTS. But I liked it. It's a bit like playing wc3 with only heroes + a cover mechanic. Ala Caompagny of Heroes ( which has a pretty good campaign too if you like WW2 stuff )

I liked the characters. And I like the 40k universe. The mission gameplay wasn't that good, I can agree with that, but the story kept me playing because I cared about what happen to this Blood Raven chapter.
Campaign of SC2 wol needs to get better with HotS, just like the original SC did with BW. It adds to them, like a long story should. But on its own, Warcraft 3 was better imo. Arthas man, arthas. They worked out that story line so good.

this has to be a joke. i dont know if its the best, but BW campaign outshines WoL by miles. The story in WoL, im sorry to say, is completely disconnected by the fact that ur a bunch of space pirates who do a lot of random unrelated to story crap.
The story is a bit better in SC-BW (If you think SC storyline is amazing, I'm sorry, you've been missing a ton of books and movies XD), but the mission design in WoL is eons ahead of BW, as it should. Campaign is entertaining and well done.
i have no qualms with mission design, WoL was fun. Just like D3 was fun, just like watching a Michael Bay movie can be fun (for some people at least : P)
If it's just about the missions being fun, then maybe they should release a patch with a new, non story related, mission every month or so, after all I can't see it being that difficult to do without trying to cram a storyline into it. In my view the story should be reasonable at least for a campaign to be considered "good". D2, and BW did just fine for me in that department. Perhaps its just nostalgia : /
