Its funny how people who have barely played sc2 compared to other pros who have played it for years as main profession, take championships away from them. It tells something about how easy the "sport" is.

What an insult to the talent and skill Roro developed over this short time frame relatively speaking. That doesn't even address the fact that certain people may be more suited for certain matchups or have different preferences to begin with. Please keep your trash comments to yourself.

Congratulations to Roro though he's worked so hard and it means a lot to him especially since he's never gotten a championship during his BW career and he was among the most consistent players to have graced the game.

Its just a fact. Something like this would never happen in real sports where it is actually hard to be a master. You would not see some junior/lower tier icehockey leaguers suddenly come and take win at NHL even if they were allowed to take part, etc.

Roro! Amazing interview. You were always my favorite Zerg in BW So much talent and you always played standard, so we'd be treated to amazing games. I hope you can catch up right away in HOTS! I think Zerg isn't that different anyway, it's just a matter of incorporating either the swarm host or viper and you'll be set!

New people come into esports and they win, it happened in every other game including Brood War. This isn't sports, It's starcraft. Now go away.

So, winning a GSL isn't hard? How many GSLs have you won?

Dude really, BW prepares you for SC2 more than you are saying, Flash for example crossed over and began dominating its more like a American Football player taking off the pads and learning new plays in Rugby and making a name for himself there. BW was more complex than WoL (arguably even HotS) so it was actually "true major leagues" to lower leagues.

Flash is hardly dominating sc2 atm

I would not be so sure about american football player getting so fast good at rugby.

Well... on that I will agree. Calling it a sport is kind of a joke anyway, I think we want to make people understand our passion and drive for the game so we dubbed eSport as a term that expresses that. Really, Roro prepared mentally as much as Tom Brady would for a Superbowl, he didn't get any sleep and he studied all day and plays 12 hours a day.

He isn't going to lift a car or slam dunk anything but the mental toughness and stamina to keep it up for hours is impressive.

Once again, what an insult to Roro's own abilities. I'll take the bait and assume that Roro should be compared to as a junior player (which generally isn't correct to begin with) and that symbol is an NHL level player (which can be debated as well). Even junior players who have skill can train to significantly improve over a short time. While it's not guaranteed that it is enough to win they can give even NHL players a run for their money depending on how they've adapted to their game.

I can tell you don't even understand conventional sports... let alone Starcraft.

Just let your own terrible analogy and trash comment sink in a little bit... one day you'll realize how wrong you are and learn to think with your head above your neck, not blow too early with the little one below.

What's this e-sport? I don't care about e-sport, I like Starcraft. Stop comparing Starcraft to sports.

Even if his analogy or comparison is correct (which it isn't to begin with) he just wants to devalue a players ability and effort.

I would not market esports with stuff like "no sleep 12 hours gameplay" because its just unhealthy and seems just obsessive. Also I dont think he really played 12 hours and slept like that because it would have just fatigued him and nothing really would have been gained by that bad training routine.

It's called dedication.
Quit shitting on Starcraft if you don't like it then don't post, keep it to yourself.

It would never really happen, hard boiled NHL teams would not let those junior players take any wins.

So what exactly are you doing in this thread exactly? Go to a sport website instead then...
All you are doing is basically insulting all the players.

it's different, you're talking about sports where peak physical conditions > much harder to train than just pure mechanical aspect.

and you're also talking about team sports, which compounds the difficulty factor.

Its totally possible to be at very good physical condition at 19 or so years and able to match those older player in physical aspects. But the hardest thing is, that it is fucking hard to gain those actual icehockey skills and additionally form a good teamwork between players.
