GSL numbers do NOT include gomtv.net, and therefore present quite lower than they really are. Great for them for doing so well and thanks for the stats!

About today's GSL numbers, the twitch stream was very laggy, so I, and I think a lot of others, watched directly on GomTV's stream. It would really surprise me that Stephano playing didn't impact that number a lot more.

Wow, I'm really surprised that Group H of GSL (with Stephano) wasn't at 50% more than other groups! I'd be really interested to see if the GOMTV numbers went way up.

It seems impossible for them not to............

Edit:
Also, I'd venture to say Jaedong lost so many viewers because Stephano and him streamed simultaneously for 30-40% of the time (it seemed), and they surely share a large percentage of their viewer-base.

Doubt it, theres a reason the price for a ticket is so high because not a lot of people actually pay.
And if you take into account how many people thats in the LR threads watch on Twitch then the "casual" viewers certainly watch it via there as well.
The curse is real

That's not a teamless guy, that's ProTech! He's awesome and he focuses mostly on 2v2. Very entertaining stream and the only mannered chat in the business.

"Apparently, watching GSL from gomtv.net does add to the twitch.tv viewer numbers, so the actual GSL foreign viewer numbers are higher than what is presented here. Poor Proleague"

How sure are you about this? GOMTV don't use twitch on their main website, I see no reason why the viewers would add up on the twitch side.

I mean the player looks very different, and even the stream on GOMTV was up when twitch went down, so obviously its not the same stream

Oh, no, I don't think so. He is also male. So... literally speaking he is a teamless guy. But I meant that he isn't a random guy, but he is well known, also for streaming a lot.

the steam went down 1 or 2 times and once had a lot of lags, each time during stephano matches.
I think lot of people went to see it on GOMTV, the quality of free stream is the same (and gomtv stream was perfect)

November thru Jan stream numbers are really interesting--- seems like HotS views are pulling up WoL views-- nothing that we don't more or less know but more evidence for how the whole scene is synergistic with itself. Kind of like how linear increases in amount of content put out result in non-linear # of views. (better than linear increase up to some inflection point, then becomes kind of logarithmic as it reaches saturation).

Cool stuff.

I love EG.

They're masters of marketing, in a market where marketing is sorely under-rated. They're by no means the best, but they focus so much on advertising and big, huge personalities.. We don't want to watch for cutting edge badassery, we want to watch to be entertained!

Congrats EG =]
