Killer, also known as Baxter, the former protege of Jaedong on Hwaseung Oz, left Starcraft 2 shortly after the transition and went back to playing Brood War. He had a successful Brood War amateur career, recently winning the biggest Brood War tournament running, the Sonic TV Starleague, only dropping three maps the entire tournament.
He was mysteriously absent from recent amateur tournaments, people wondering where Killer had gone. No news on if he has rejoined Team 8 or if he's still teamless, but he participated in the Code A qualifiers, losing to Sage 0-2.
Short summary is that he will return as a gamer for sc2. Says he's been practicing sc2 before/after SSL. He would like to return to team8 if contracts are possible, will try in offseason
Was it Killer that retired because of personal reasons (something regarding his family?) or did he just retire cuz of the game switch?
Anyway, I guess he wasn't that eager on the student/normal job type of life and with the success he had with BW during his short amateur period I guess he got the hunger to return as a progamer and get a steady paycheck again as well reaching the potential he had at Oz. I can respect that.
If this now means that he's back and not just giving it a shot for the hell of it.
Sangho, Felipe and Baxter to become Killer, MustacheKiller, PirateKiller and dominate the SC2 scene in 2013 and form their own Killer teamhouse on top of mount Olympus.
BAXTER! This is so awesome Baxter has ridiculous mechanics and had ton of potential in BW. Can't wait to see his play in SC2. Now if only Hiya would jump ship aswell.

He also didn't play in the last two SRT tournaments, so it would probably imply he's back.
edit: also, I honestly wouldn't expect much. either he goes back to team 8 soon, starts practicing for the next SSL (SRT are $500 winner-take-all tournament, due to not allowing more than $500 tournaments before getting a license from blizzard) and stream afreeca, or he's going to the military soon. Taking a shot at code A and missing winner-take-all tournaments doesn't really mean a lot inherently, at least to me.
well this is the very last big WoL tournament ever so Killer/ggaemo/artosis/insert familiar just try for fun. And if they are lucky enough to pass through, a career in HotS might be considered. Thats it. No big deal
This guy was the shit for a while in brood war. I remember him citing a lack of interest/passion when he retired. Hopefully he has rediscovered that and will storm his way back onto the scene and do some good work.
Wooo! I'm legitimately excited about this, and I don't know why. Maybe all of the mini-JD feelings I got watching him on Oz. And oh the let downs. So many times he let me down in proleague... only to have me root for him the next time. I hope he sticks around this time.

or the fact that this guy means new blood for sc2, or the fact that Sage has somewhat returned to being a player I can love again without being thoroughly dissapointed. All in all this is great .
i remember watching him in bw. he went from being one of the laughing stocks of the scene to a nightmare for players to play against. PERFECTMAN FIGHTINGG

He said on stream the other night that he will be very active (in streaming BW on Afreeca) and that he doesn't intend on disappearing again. (what happened to him after he won SSL8 and later found out that he was practicing SC2)
Also, the recall carrier game that was mentioned above:
