HOUSTON, TEXAS - January 17, 2013 - Today compLexity Gaming is pleased to announce our first StarCraft 2 addition for 2013: Choi "TheStC" Yun Sik!
In 2012 TheStC placed in the Round of 8 at ASUS ROG Winter, Top 4 at MLG Summer and Top 4 at Dreamhack Valencia.
"We very excited to welcome theSTC to our StarCraft 2 division," said Jason Bass, owner and COO of compLexity. "We're confident his skills and work ethic will result in strong finishes for the coL Community in 2013."
You should have a look at Complexitys website too - It's a new one
good luck to both! I wonder how this will be different from coL's previous Korean players on the team. Will he live in the US? Will there be any form of chemistry with the rest of the team?
Sad that they only took him because they wanted results.
He's one of the wackiest South Korean players (as told by members of oGs back when it was still active) but I doubt we'll be reading about any of that.
Congrats, I guess. I wasn't a fan of the gameplay he showed while being on Quantic, but he used to be pretty awesome, hope he can somehow build himself up again, although the earlier Korean pickups from complexity all declined in skill.

Probably. They did say something about the "first" pickup for 2013.
Edit: Polt's a possibility if coL is looking to spend real money, but I doubt that. Either that or they're waiting for Polt's asking price to drop. I'd expect one or two more proven if not top-level Koreans, say B4 or maybe even someone as hot as Symbol.

Time to make the dollar bills rain on Polt.
Complexity seems to have a bit too frugal/conservative a hiring strategy for that. Polt has some noticeable study/school related performance swings & the popularity to ask for weather-delivered cash.
Great for compLexity. Been wondering where TheStC went and such. Good to hear he's on a good foreign team. Great for qxc too as I think he's going to blossom if he can train with a truly good korean terran (not to say that trimaster isn't good too) but TheStC is on a different level altogether and qxc is IMO talented.
I noticed this last night (rosters). I thought for a second, hey, maybe I should tell someone, but then I realized I"m not a "journalist." I was so close to having a chance to be a d-bag.

Taking classes to learn English should probably not be as demanding as majoring in bio animal technology. Especially when he's already pretty damn good at English.
Yay, I am happy for StC, he found a nice team and doesn't have to undergo rumors of retiring. He is really underrated, and deserves a great team to promote him and take him to tournaments.
Maybe Polt is still a choice, but coL doesn't seem like it is willing to spend big bucks on a big profile player.

I'm really surprised that Col picked up TheStC considering that they seem to have been downscaling their stuff the past few weeks, but I guess this is a way they could get back up again.

This is nice to see. After announcements of Heart leaving/teamhouse closing, I was a little worried for coLSC2. However, picking up theSTC seems like an affirmation that they're hear to stay. Grats to coL and theSTC!
Great to see TheStC finally find a team, he is hardworking and does well at the kinds of events complexity will probably send him too, as evidence by his good results at events Quantic flew him too.
Also good overall to see how most of the teamless good players are getting picked up, at this rate all of them will find nice homes soon.
Well, coL may not be outright giving up on sc2, but I still see them giving it up shortly. This seems like a "let's see if we still want to do this" deal.

Still, I guess Heart and coL had good reason to part ways, so I guess this works out for everyone :o
Agreed, you have to be in it for the long haul in the sc2 scene. Complexity still suffers from the fps gaming mentality of picking up and dropping players/teams when results aren't readily apparent.

Heart was showing results...
Heart is best friends with the Axiom team, lived with them, and wanted to join.

Yah, I just prefer to believe it was a mutual thing where coL didn't mind keeping him but the opportunity came along for Heart to be in a better position, and coL was okay not going with a competing offer if that's what he wanted. Rainbows and sunshine everyone :o

The Ganzi thing was so overblown. Complexity didn't think Ganzi was worth the money they paid him when they signed him (he was a consistent Code S player and a top 10 Terran) and cut his salary in half come renewal of the contract. Yeah, his popularity got better with his dancing and great personality, but he was injured a lot of the year, dropped out of the GSL, and didn't do much tournament result wise. It's like signing a NHL player to a 1 year contract for 5 million dollars, him being out half the year because of injury and the other half him putting up poor numbers, and the player being shocked when they're only offering half his old contract.

Same here. =/
TheStC has always been a very underrated player, which I find quite sad. Hopefully on coL he will be able to finally grab some results representative of his true skill and talent. StC hwaiting~~

only troll said there closing there sc2 division, gratz on the pickup!
I'm glad TheSTC found a team and that Complexity is recruiting players. However does someone understand the logic in here? Complexity parted ways with Ganzi, Goswser and Heart and recruiting TheSTC? Not saying that the former are better than him but I don't understand the reasoning behind those choices.

ganzi leaving was appearently a misunderstanding between him and complexity.
Seeing as Goswser joined Millenium (almost?) immediately after leaving complexity I would assume he just got a better offer from Millenium, same goes for Heart and Axiom. You have to keep in mind that players might choose to go to other teams themselves as well, and not only the team can choose to resign contracts.

Gowser said he wanted to go to Europe, and he probably knew the coL house was closing, so Millenium was a good choice for him. Ganzi didn't want the pay cut that coL were offering, Heart lives with Crank and the other Axiom guys, makes sense to move there.
