HyuN "We understand our coach's situation"
"I hope to find a team fast before I go to the military"

The newly independent player HyuN (Independent) is giving his opinion on TSL's disbanding.

On the 3rd, TIG contacted HyuN over the phone, saying, "Our team's situation was never great. Our coach said we were a great team, and explained the reason behind our disbanding which made us understand the problem" before the break-up of the team.

On the night of the 2nd, Coach Lee informed the players about the dissolution. The team was shocked, but knew Coach Lee and his mother had poor health, and understood why the team had to disband. HyuN said, "We did not think it was good for the coach to continue acting as director in his current state".

HyuN seemed very unsurprised at the incident, no stranger to team dissolutions including MBC Game Hero and now TSL. "During the writing of the article, I have not yet decided on a specific team." "Planning carefully for a team" is his plan.

HyuN is looking for a team like TSL, a team where he can "place his bone in the ground". "Because of my age, I want to find a team soon before I have to join the military" he explained. "An eSF or foreign team would be nice".

In his last words, HyuN said, "I hope our team's dongsengs (younger brothers) can find good teams because of their skills" and "Our coaches are hoping for the best".

The independent members of TSL are expected to arrive at an eSF "primary literacy education" (not sure what this means) on the 4th of January, in Mokdong Studios.

(I'm no SeeKeR, so there might be issues with the translation, and the format isn't the prettiest x_x Sorry if it isn't the best translation around, just felt I wanted to post this if people were interested in HyuN's viewpoint)

That really sucks for the TSL players. Having a team dissolve on you can really mess up a career. Best of luck TSL guys

This is really sad. I mean they had great results in the past year and really deserved to get sponsored, I'd even say HyuN and Polt were very marketable players that could've done great PR stuff for potential sponsors. TSL didn't deserve to end like this.

I can definitely see Axoim picking up some of the TSL players especially since they lack strong zergs, and they are opening a team house in Korea.

Could you provide a link to the interview, btw?

Sad to see TSL go, but that's the cutthroat nature of small business.

"The SCV Life" probably would have limited multi-game growth in the long run anyway; it would seem odd to have a LoL/DotA/etc. team with that name...but maybe koreans don't think about the literal english translations (e.g. Pocari Sweat)

As far as the "primary literacy education" thing goes, KeSPA teams had mandatory education seminars for their players to attend in order for them to keep their progaming licenses. iirc, the seminars mostly consisted of lectures about stuff like professionalism and health. What eSF is doing is probably the same thing since KeSPA recently made progaming licenses available for eSF players, probably meaning that eSF players now have to attend similar education seminars to keep their licenses.

They're really no big deal. From what I've seen in some old pictures, a lot of players end up dozing off during these seminars lol.

Thanks for the translation. Too bad. Symbol's and Hyun's GSTL runs were amazing! I'm pretty sure they'd get picked up soon though.

I'm still surprised that HyuN is still playing, I expected him to be in the military in the first place. He is 26, ancient by progamer standards, and isn't in university, so has no good reason to delay his military service. I think HyuN is planning for a KeSPA team because he seems familiar with them due to his BW background. Maybe a foreign team, but HyuN seems rooted in Korea.

The cool thing about Hyun is raw mechanics aren't what makes him so good. So he has a much longer "life span", per se.
Also, he said he's going for an ESF or foreign team, and he does have a good reason to delay his military service: he's among the very, very best zergs in the world. His career isn't over, far from it. It's most likely only just begun.

Maybe so, but very few ex-TSL players improved or even stayed consistent after leaving. Look at aLive, Tester, Rain, FD and to an extent, PuMa. If this remains the same, HyuN might decline in skill, but considering he is still motivated to play SC2 and retain his practice skills, he will probably not change.

He's actually been playing BW some on Fish since the ladder reset the other day. His name is TSL.Hyun or something similar.

Hyun deserves the best as well as Symbol. They both were the solid backbone of the team when they were in desperate times for team league and individual league representation. I hope they find a team soon that needs them as much as TSL did.

What what what, you changed your ID? I thought SeeKeR was stylized better.

Seeker was my original ID when I signed up on TL. Then I changed it to SeeKeR. Then I changed it back. The KeR part was bugging me for the longest time. I liked it at first, but later on it just became a nuisance.

Hope he finds a team soon, with TSL and MBC Game Hero disbanding, Hyun can only have bad memories of Starcraft teams

Hyun's my absolute favorite player, really hoping to see him join a foreign team, it'd just be awesome.

These interviews always remind me that there is so much behind the scenes that I know very little about.
