IMO that's more of a financing issue than a set-in-stone behavior style. Taeja, Hero, and Zenio were all fairly mediocre in the beginning and I don't think many people predicted how good they would get (especially since Hero didn't get much screen time when oGs also had MC/Vines/Inca). There are so many great SC2 players which left their korean teams to go to the USA and honestly, I can't remember them winning since they left. Polt wants to study and that's great but that will end his carrier as POLT. Violet?.... And what 'great korean players' are you talking about? AFAIK Violet is the only one to move to USA permanently aside from EG players, who are back in Korea at TEH LAB(!!!!)...

Granted, he's a freak and not by any means the norm, but it shows that it isn't impossible. Other players have shown they can improve while in school. It isn't easy, and he probably isn't going to be winning GSL championships, but he'll maintain the ability to win foreign tournies.

The first 2 years of Veterinary School is just as hard as the first 2 years of Medical School. I won't be surprised if he decides to quit SC2 after a few months of trying to juggle both.

Which is why Polt's reputation is so respected, he manages to put up top-tier, Code S level play when he should be preoccupied with studying in a difficult program in Korea's best university.

As long as Polt is on the West Coast, latency shouldn't be too bad when playing in the KR server.

And Zenio was also in Code S prior to joining Liquid and he dropped off the face of the earth soon after. Of their Korean pickups, Hero is the only one who fits the bill of being mediocre beforehand.

Is he doing vet school in the US? I know he studies animal science and biotech, but afaik, it sounds like he's doing a language program to brush up his English and not necessarily doing animal science stuff while abroad. And while he'll be juggling courses with SC2, I don't think the language program will take up that much time.
