EG.Jaedong - Page 82

Correction: Daily ESPORTS mistakenly reported earlier that Jaedong would return to Team Eight immediately should they find a sponsor. This was a misunderstanding; Jaedong's 1 year period with EG is binding.

I don't know why some people can be bitter about this when this is a great milestone for the scene. Whether you like EG or not, the fact that Korean players from KeSPA are now joining foreign teams is amazing and the community should be happy for this. Who knows what the future holds now knowing that some of the powerhouse players coming over from BW are looking to join foreign teams and compete in foreign tournaments. Plus for those who want to cry out and say "Starcraft is dying) then this should help solve the issue (not that I think there's an issue but everyone has their opinion). But one thing is for certain, tournaments starring players like JD will have a boom in viewership because people love the BW players and they want to see them play so whether there is an issue with starcraft or not, this will definitely benefit the scene.

And who knows, maybe a year or two from now we might see players like Fantasy, Rain, Bisu, Stork, Flash or any other KeSPA decide to sign contracts with foreign teams and star in tournaments worldwide, not just the OSL and Proleague.

well i fear kespa teams will fall apart over time due to the bigger amounts of money foreign or MLG teams can provide. and that´s sad as i love kespa teams dearly. Furthermore i dislike EG's mentality of simply buying the best players available and not producing their own talents quite as much.

Same here, I don't have to like a team that just buys every hyped player out there. I will root for JD but not in Proleague or any other team competition.

These posts never cease to amaze me. We've got teams dropping like flies because all the moron's who thought they could make a quick buck of sc2 got burnt, and now your telling me that a financially sound organisation picking up fan favourites is bad?

??????

What do other teams have to do with me not liking the way EG approaches Sc2? Am I supposed to be a Real Madrid fan just because they buy every good player for lots of money?
That point of view is pretty narrow minded if you ask me.

This is so ridiculous. EG picked up Suppy who was not a player who was a fan favorite or a top player. JD is a fan favorite but he is not as of yet a top player. It will be up to EG to mold him properly and give him what he needs. So considering JD is not a top player yet, how can it be argued that they only pick up the best? Should they have not picked up Stephano when given the chance? Should Stephano now be making less money? TL has picked up big name Koreans too and doesnt get hate for it.

Who said I am a huge fan of TL? What has TL to do with EG to begin with?
Suppy, yes. But what about HuK? Stephano? Thorzain? They all were on their peek.
You can be fan of EG how much you ever want but that doesn't mean I have to be a fan of EG just because JD joined them. This is ridiculous.

Suppy is pretty much the only signup I liked, personally. EG doesnt just buy players on their best moment in terms of performance, but also in terms of poularity. JD's signup follows that line, which is fine from a business standpoint I guess, but personally I just can't like it.

The reason why TL doesn't get hate is because they sign players under this "homey/bro-like/homegrown/family" profile that is just... Cool.. And awesome. That is all.

I don't think this is good either way. I'd like Jaedong to stay with Team 8. I highly doubt they'll ever get a sponsor now without him with them having trouble finding one with him. Now that they have 0 players their chances wouldn't be that great.

Though with that said I wish both Jaedong and EG good luck. I hope to once again see the Tyrant back into his 08/09 form. With our without EG.
