Correction: Daily ESPORTS mistakenly reported earlier that Jaedong would return to Team Eight immediately should they find a sponsor. This was a misunderstanding; Jaedong's 1 year period with EG is binding. |

The thing with the 1 year loan is that its essentially a contract. Although I dont know the stipulations of the loan itself, having a player for one year is the same as any player already signed to a team. I'm sure most players are on their own one year contracts excluding say MVP and the like who have potentially 2-3 year long terms of agreement.

Wow, I'm late to the dinner. Really happy to see JD in a new team. Though I have serious doubts about him doing well in SC2, nevertheless I shall always root for JD!!! go go go The Tyrant!

Best of luck for Jaedong in Evil Geniuses

I guess I should like EG now? hehehe, it's time to take a look at their roster))

I think He's being a bit over-hyped at the moment. Yes I know his history in BW, but I don't think at this current moment in time he is the best player (or close to it) on EG-TL. He will be a regular occurrence on the team since he lives in Korea and is very use to PL.
Think of this more are the non PL players getting some first hand tips/experience from one of the best! JD will be a consistent member and will be a great benefit to the rest of EG-TL, but dont expect him to play may Ace matches soon, that will go to Stephano/Taeja.

I don't know why some people can be bitter about this when this is a great milestone for the scene. Whether you like EG or not, the fact that Korean players from KeSPA are now joining foreign teams is amazing and the community should be happy for this. Who knows what the future holds now knowing that some of the powerhouse players coming over from BW are looking to join foreign teams and compete in foreign tournaments. Plus for those who want to cry out and say "Starcraft is dying) then this should help solve the issue (not that I think there's an issue but everyone has their opinion). But one thing is for certain, tournaments starring players like JD will have a boom in viewership because people love the BW players and they want to see them play so whether there is an issue with starcraft or not, this will definitely benefit the scene.
And who knows, maybe a year or two from now we might see players like Fantasy, Rain, Bisu, Stork, Flash or any other KeSPA decide to sign contracts with foreign teams and star in tournaments worldwide, not just the OSL and Proleague.
