Correction: Daily ESPORTS mistakenly reported earlier that Jaedong would return to Team Eight immediately should they find a sponsor. This was a misunderstanding; Jaedong's 1 year period with EG is binding.

Not yet, but we're looking into it.
EG = The New York Yankees of E-Sports ....
Sad thing is, EG is essentially doing standard practice for every sports team out there: making sponsors known, promoting their players, providing metrics for viewership/attention, etc.
It's extremely unfortunate when you get called the "New York Yankees of E-Sports" for what would be the norm in any other established business market.
I see they're never going to drop the NYY thing even though it couldn't be further from the truth.
Being compared to them nowadays is a joke. Heck, it's funny because thestar just wrote an article about their downfall today in the sports section, which is pretty ironic regarding my post the other day:
The Yankees are old now and they are no longer the dynasty team everyone talks about.
Plus there are ten teams that have payrolls well over $100 million now and have better odds of winning the World Series compared to the NNY.
Uhhh the Yankees have a shot at winning every year and have still got a huge payroll. They are not on the decline. They are trying to get the payroll down so that makes a difference but they had bad injuries last year. They lost the greatest closer of all time. That hurts a teams chances. Also that paper is kind of biased against the Yankees coming from Toronto Go Jays though!

What change?
As in people who were rooting for those teams were doing so because Jaedong was in it and now they switched to Jaedong's team EG.... jesus..
lol, never gonna happen, thats just a setback, i still despise EG as a team
Yeh me too. Personally I hate this news although I can definitely understand why he did it especially considering his history wih Oz. I would have much rather him join any other team than EG though. To me EG is the epitome of players who receive more than they deserve. There are so many other players that I know work harder, for almost no pay in worse conditions but don't have the name recognition that many of the players in EG do. All I can hope for is that JD maintains his stellar work ethic with such a (comparatively) relaxed atmosphere around him. Ideally team 8 gets a good sponsor and he moves back after a year.
Anyway, gl JD, I will support you regardless of where you go.
