Remember you can pre-order your copy through the TL store and help support Team Liquid! It's also an easy way to get a beta key! |

If everyone can do that they just should have made it open, because it IS an open beta now.
And i wonder why almost 4 months of open beta? It seems very long to me. WoL (which is the official released game will be almost like a desert during 4 months?

Blizzard wants strong preorder numbers going forward, since a financial quarter is ending soon. It gives them a better idea of how many people are going to buy the game, how much demanding there is going to be and so on. With global play being added, I am sure there is some backend and server stuff they need to do as well.
Also, Activision’s stock was down and they talking about SC2 during their investor call. They are looking to report well to investors, since WoW numbers have peaked and are not expected to climb. Investors are going to be looking for the “next WoW” and wondering why Blizzard isn’t focusing on that. Reporting good preorder numbers allows them to justify any man hours they are spending on HotS and beat off any discussions of “why aren’t these people working on the new WoW-thing”.
Just some thoughts. Beta’s aren’t just about testing any more, or they are more than just testing the game.

Not everyone is cancelling their pre-order. Some people have a conscience.

I just got my beta key! Whoop whoop, so much for waiting until the 20th

Got my key from Amazon this morning, passed it on to a friend of mine. My friend noticed when selecting a character name on the US client now you can enter Japanese characters. Still can't enter Korean characters however, or at least my friend was unable to. Odd.

Yes but everyone can (if it works, i dont even know, i'm on beta from the start). So, it's open.
Anyway, you should tell your conscience that nobody will be hurt, nobody will even be stolen...

I will support Blizzard with buying 5 copies! Everyone should imo to create a false player base so the investors say "wow!".. treating this as just another game and demanding service, cheap prices and definate dates is blasfemi!! Bow to our alternate-life's creator or die! No ironi

Well you can use Kanji, which means you can type very little in japanese since a good majority of words include hirigana which cannot be used
plus i'm almost positive it's only the chinese kanji that is in the system

Nope... This is what I did. Cancel the order after you get your key in email. ez

Trading DotA2 invite for HotS beta key. (Can't preorder from amazon.com) If anyone is interested, send me a PM!
|
I wonder whether there will be 1 or 2 GSL seasons in 2013 played on WoL? There will certainly be one, but I wonder how they'll configure their schedule given the March release date.
Actually now that I look at it, Season 1 of 2012 finished on March 3, so it looks like this should line up perfectly.
edit: in that case, I wonder who will be the last WoL champion after this season...and if the same players will continue to perform in code S consistently

You are going to need 8 dota2 keys for a hots key...

I pray to GaGa that all those cinematics of HotS won't be on YT due the CE before the launch, like it was on WoLs release... spoiled everything. They should block the behind the scenes dvd or stop chipping CE 3 days before release ._. #problems of a kerrigan stan

Why would it matter if they were? O-o just don't watch them?
|
well that's the point of trying not to watch them :D same goes for the german prometheus (the movie in particular) fanbase (alos in some other countries), as the release was 3 months later or so... so they were all spoiled to death as hardcore fans couldn't avoid prometheus for 3 months after it's release. the good thing is that hots is released simultanously all over the world (1 day naunce) but still....

Trying not to? It's not like Youtube forces you to watch them. If you see a link that says, "HOTS", you don't click it.
