GSL is the most prestigious tournament in the world and was kind enough to give you the privilege of playing in their league. Did he even try to get it rescheduled? Yes, because playing in GSL while sick is totally gonna help him win that Code S spot instead of getting better so he can move on to another tournament... Furthermore, is he really going to "respect" GSL by going to Mokdong Studio sick and not at his best? As you said GSL is the most prestigious tournament in the world, with the best players. If you're going to play in GSL, you had damn well better be at your 100% best. Playing while sick and therefore not showing your best is even more insulting than not showing up.

On the contrary, Thorzain going to GSL to play in this condition WOULD have been insulting to GSL. He doesn't want to show sloppy games in such a prestigious league.

The amount of stupidness in this thread is mindbogling. Hate.. Hate.. He's sick for god's sake "B-but i didnt know.." Fucking educate yourself before you open your mouth.
PS. saying unprofessional should be bannable offense, that word get misused all the time.

This is real real dumb. Pro football players have litterally one obligation, to the NFL. Thorzian has multiple obligations, and they involve things like flying across the world. If he is very very sick, so sick that he couldn't compete at a tournament where he was physically located, it does not make sense for him to fly across the world to play in another tournament. He also owes it to his team to get well as soon as possible to represent them/their sponsers in other events. It helps no one if prolongs his recovery and plays badly in everything.
Also, those guys get paid millions of millions of dollars. Your analogy is terrible. Also, as many people have pointed out, he was not seeded into up and downs, he was placed after his Code S performance last season.

The EG hate is strong in this one.
And when i see teams resting their star players who are perfectly healthy before the playoffs I will pretend they are too injured to play.
Why would Thorzain fly to Korea while sick to play in Up and Down matches making his condition even worse for the WCS? WCS is bigger and more important than GSL. No different than teams taking the last game of the season off like they do every year if possible.
And even if Thorzain wanted to get to Korea in time, he couldn't. There is a typhoon going on right now, hence why all the Koreans were at the twitch offices in San Francisco today.

Total fucking nonsense.
My sister-in-law who was 24 was going for cancer treatments for stage 2A lymphoma ... and then teaching for 8 hours a day just so she could make sure she got tenure in a highly competitive teaching market (NYC grade school). For lunch, she would go puke her brains out in the bathroom.
Seriously, go fuck yourself - your post is insulting to anyone who's actually been seriously ill and still had to grind at adult life.

If not mistaken ThorZaIN is ill at the moment (Atleast he got ill at MLG), so probably he could use his day of the U/D matches to try and qualify, which probably won't work, because he is ill, and wasn't able to practise most likely. OR he could use this day to rest a little more and recover a bit, and perhaps a bit of practise.

If ThorZain's career and livelihood depended on him making it in GSL I would see your point. But it's not, it much worse off for him if he prolongs his tonsilitis and plays poorly in BOTH GSL and WCS. It sucks your aunt had it bad, but that is irrelevant to ThorZain's situation..

Seriously don't go all crazy about his post. He is saying that in ThorZaINs situation he shouldn't travel all over the world while being ill, simply because there is nothing to gain, there is nothing to win in this case. How could that be insulting for anyone, he doesn't say its impossible he says its doesnt make sense to do so!

So Thorzain doesn't want to sacrifice his health and well-being for one tournament in the year, so that makes him the scum of the earth, right?
Your post is insulting to human decency. Rising above and beyond is a trait that deserves praising, not an expectation that gives you excuses to shit over the rest of the world.
So, as you so aptly said, go fuck yourself.

Seriously guys..stop with the "WELL MY SISTER/BROTHER/UNCLE/MOTHER..." bullshit...put YOURSELF in Thorzain's shoes...take the up/down forefit, rest a little more while your sick, and take the Code A spot...so you can prepare to WCS Euro finals, where you have a much better chance of winning, get the the WCS Grand finals, shot for more money...or...go to Korea while sick, play horribly in Up/down matches, fly to Euro, play terrible in those, drop out of everything, and now you're not in any major tournament for a while.....seems logical right? Shut the fuck up about him dropping up/downs because he's sick and wants to preform well at a tournament he has a better chance of winning you idiots...

This thread is stupid. People are hating for no reason, but the internet will be the internet I guess.

It would be nice if everyone remember that Thorzain actually wants to compete in the up and down... Its not like he forgot to do homework and decide to skip class.... If he says he's too sick to go, its probably the right call.
Just look at his past record. Thorzain at one point this year was traveling between MLG, GSL and Dreamhack in the span of a single week. Heck, even he tried playing at this past MLG while being half dead! (and lost to root.Puck) He wants to compete in tournaments. Just trust in the guy. He's the last person in the world who wants to forfeit this tournament.

Way to post a idiotic response about a situation that is entirely unrelated to Thorzains. Sorry about your sister-in-law, I really am. But can you please try to explain why Thorzain should risk his recovery by wasting energy on this tournament. Because there are other people in the world that are in a worse spot? That argument is about as hollow as the "eat your food, the children in Africa are starving"-bullshit that people tell children...
Everyone should try to make the best out of their situation, not to make their situation shittier so that everyone has to go through an equal amount of shit.
Best of luck to Thorzain in the future, hope you get well soon!

expteced this, khaldor already said thorzain is really sick and not trained for many games so ... would not even be good games i guess because of his illness
|
I don't get why people respond just to try and make thorzain feel shitty. Probably the same kids that BM on ladder. There's no reason for it other than to be a dick, his decision is a good one. I'm glad that it's an illness keeping thorzain from playing and not something like carpal tunnel that some players are experiencing. What incontrol said about dealing with emotional problems makes me worry though, bounce back strong man.
