Day9 kinda ruined the audience participation part and just decided to do whatever he wanted. He did some ridiculous things in Game 3 and had to regame because it was so bad.

It's understandable, Day9 was worried that they'd have a repeat of Game 2 in InControl vs Select which lasted an hour and ten minutes. He got really really overeager in the first game 3 and killed Bling before the two minute mark. In the regame, he kept trying to even the score but the observer controls were a little too loose and he wasn't able to fix the mess he made.

It was still hilarious, everyone just got a little peeved that Day9 went a little nuts with the unstoppable and uncontrolled destruction. Storm map is going to be amazing.

Edit: They had 45 minutes tops to play game three.

That was so fucking stupid. Bomber adjusted as best as he could to the number of mutagens on the map, but then Day9 just gives the other team 10 mega infestors and Bling wins.

He goes all the way from Korea and important practice just to have Day9 take away any chance to win. Ruins the whole point of the randomness and fun of the event when Day9 just decides to hand the other team a win.

Bomber was the clear favorite in popularity and Day9 did whatever the heck he wanted... The audience had almost no role as day9 just played god the entire time. Yesterday was a lot better. Day9 just overstepped his boundaries.

I'm also surprised incontrol made a broken promise of announcing whether stephano would join eg or not if he were to win. That was just stupid.

Basically, Day[9] ignored the audience and spammed infestors to Bling's team two games in a row which effectively decided the game instead of letting the players deal with the catastrophes and try to use them to their advantage. Bomber showed initiative in adjusting his game plan to his advantage (a 3 SCV rush to destroy a nexus during the mutation spawn), but then Day[9] gave the other team infestors to keep them from dying, but ofc, super infestors OP. The game before that Day[9] gave Bling's team 11 infestors as a panic button move when he accidentally killed Bling 1.5 minutes into the game by swarming him with critters. It was really just Bomber getting shafted despite showing really good adaptability and excellent, creative play and being the favorite of the audience (whose input Day[9] should've listened to).

The point of the tourney is to have fun, yeah, but it's also to not leave the audience with the feeling that the players can do absolutely nothing in their power to win, no matter how much they adapt. It's a bit of a problem when one team's fate is decided by Day[9]'s decision to spam as many "powers" as possible. The ones on today's map basically spelled instant death for some players, unlike the ones yesterday, which you could recover from.

Day9 kinda ruined it. He was worried about time and in turn made just terrible decisions. Although that map was much worse than the tal'darim one imo...baneling landmines was pretty poorly designed.

I feel sorry for Day9. He was put in a tough position where is seemed he was limited by time and things eventually spiraled out of control. No one would want to be in that position, but at least Day9 kept his composure and kept it entertaining. Stress and a bit of panic may have gotten to him a bit, for whatever was going on behind the scenes.

Before people start hating on Day9 they should remember that he is human too and doing what he does is not easy and can be very stressful.

He did the hosting, interviewing, casting, game manipulation, taking in polls, interacting with the audience and players constantly. I don't think people give him enough credit for doing all of these things while being entertaining. I think he did a great job today overall. People make mistakes.
