Where are you from and where do you currently live?
"I'm from northwest Romania and currently live in Cluj-Napoca, Transilvania, Romania."
So you're the only Quantic member currently living in Europe. What sort of challenges does that present?
"Well, one would suspect issues regarding timezones might arise but since I'm usually always practicing late into the night nowadays, I'm synchronizing nicely with everyone. In fact, I have the luxury of looking for practice partners on both servers so when I tire out my EU partners I get fresh ones on NA for four to five more hours every day.
This is great because starting about a month ago, I've been playing around 10 hours each day and I just can't seem to get enough."
It seems like the rumours were true and Quantic signed the romanian Zerg player decemvre mostly known for streaming and hes coaching with the Swarm School.
I'm not a member of Quantic and hopefully its not a problem that I made this post. Congratz Decemvre and keep up the good work. Interesting pick for Quantic

UPDATE: Decemvre answers some questions:

I don't really have an answer for that right now; we'll see in the future i guess. EG seems to constantly buy the best player around every 3~4 months or so.

I stopped playing and streaming early november of 2011 due to a personal reason (my pet died, killed by a neighbor but i had no palpable evidence, and i wasn't really able to do much for a month or so i was constantly pouring my hate into the game and i had to stop) and i started again recently.

Also true, competition on the EU server has gotten crazy and it was the first thing i noticed getting back into the game. I think its quite obvious european players have moved a step closer to koreans as can be seen in this ongoing DreamHack.
Quantic Gaming will soon be organizing a community contest (with prizes) that was my idea and i'll do my best to stay involved in organizing it; keep reading the Quantic website the announcement is coming !
decemvre was one of the first featured streamers in the beta i think and he had a great stream back then and shared a lot of wisdom, also he did nice coaching. he was never one of the top players though. don't know why he went of the radar :s gl to him!
Someone posted that he changed his skype name to Quanticdecemvre in the Quantic signed TheStC thread, I am still a little bit surprised but nontheless happy for him!

yeah i still can't realise either why quantic would pick up decemvre. i mean i like him but he hasn't achieved anything yet and he's been on and off with practice. i have great expectations from him, anyways ^^. good luck to him !

a) Maybe more of a question of a question for the Quantic management but how did you get picked up without having any notable performances in tournaments? You mention how hard it is to get noticed so I'm curious as I've been following the scene for about half a year and never heard of you before.
b) Could you say where you see yourself skillwise right now? For example how well you do against well-known pros on the ladder.
Thanks in advance!

I simply submitted a letter of intent about a 6 weeks ago after Quantic had publicly announced that they are looking for staff and players.
Based on that i was picked for a live interview with the manager and based on that i was picked for yet another interview with the COO; there were also some replays and games involved.
I was never given much information regarding the other players that were interviewed at the same time, other than that there were quite a few and some known names as well. I know some of the names but i can't tell you for obvious reasons.
I can say that my professional outlook and the way in which i approached them was important. I don't think any manager will give a second look at a submission that looks like it comes from a 13y old.
I'd rather not talk about my skill level but let future results speak. I can say that submitting a great number of replays against top players was a considerable reason why i was accepted.

This is a player getting picked up by a team, of course this is worth a thread. Let's see if he can keep up the motivation to keep playing those 10 hours a day like he is right now.

This post erked me. How does bidding on or throwing money at a "known" player help the space. There are already plenty of organizations with top talent, developing and giving the dark horses the resources they need to prove themselves adds much more value to the starcraft scene and esports in general imo.

Hmmm people have mentioned he did a significant amount of coaching maybe it's as a player coach? Though I think his statement kinda denies that but who knows
One of the first streams I watched during beta, I learned a lot from him. Just to needle him a little, anyone remember the incident where he claimed credit for one of idra's builds? xD
I don't play the game anymore, but if I were a zerg I'd definitely watch out for his stream: its like a never-ending coaching session.

It might be you who don't know who he is and not necessarily that he isn't "known" Inform yourself, that's why they made an article.
I'm kinda in NoGasfOu's place, I've definitely heard of him and I have seen his name on the streamer links, but is there any definitive game he has played where we can really get the gist of his play style? Kinda like if one wanted to see Empire.ViOlet's most amazing showing, one would pick something like his double nydus strat that he used during last years redbull training ground. I guess my post is basically, is there a video I can see of him absolutely showing his mettle? EDIT: by his place I mean the first part of his post, not the second, I totally understand picking up and developing darkhorses, much like x6.Suppy.
I was wondering what happened to this guy the other day then I seen him beat Ret in a TL qualifier or something, GL dude, I miss your stream, was one of the first I watched and one of the first to have good quality etc

All new people who want to become progamers run into a catch 22 scenario.
They can't play fulltime because of lack of income if they dont either work/go to school They can't become better at a fast enough rate because they can't play full time.

There are some exceptions to your rule; some people out there are just "made of talent" or they have very high IQ. While stephano is out of school he still doesn't practice anywhere near the amount of daily hours that the top koreans practice.
Lucifron is attending university but he just picks up the game for 2 days and knocks out stephano. Mondragon also comes to mind. And Protosser, a finnish (he comes from Finland) top 16 finisher at this DreamHack is only 15 and obviously in school.

Why do a lot of people say this?
Why don't they keep doing what they're doing, providing support to good players, they don't need to be known now, because if Quantic was right in their scouting then they've just picked up a cheap player who is really good. Not everyone who is good is known.
Remember seeing him stream alot but not recently. I would always get him mixed up with MrBitter and Flabulous or w/e b/c noone used facecams back then.
Quantic's roster is huge because of the team the ate up earlier(i forget the team name). I expect that they are all under contract. I also expect that when some of the contracts are up, they will be letting people go.

GL!
I understand decemvre is difficult to pronounce for anyone who doesn't speak romanian so i much prefer to be simply called "december" by everyone. Makes everything much easier.
really bm player, does not deserve a team such as quantic to get him, but i guess quantic does kinda like to get players that have a slight manner issue
Sickest pick-up! I'll trust Quantic and say that he's probably one of the most talented players out there. He appeared one cold winter's night (in Decembre if I recall correctly), and boy, I sensed in him the kind of aura you only feel around monsters, like at least mid masters level. Looking forward to his play.
I watched your stream a lot in the past, what was it season 3? Best stream on own3d back then. Used your strategy with the 19/18 queen+hatchery before overlord. And the mass lings rallied to the left side of XNC and delaying the P expansion, when P were jugling between 1gate exp/3gate exp.
There was a fun quote between you and IdrA back in the day. Something with mutas, but can't remember what it was. .
